Once upon a time many years ago, when all cars run on petrol, and when the word hybrid was mentioned people sniggered and muttered Pious under their breath, the tribes of CA camped in numerous fields far and wide over the plains of Le Sarthe.
There was a ritual every year held at 9pm on the Wednesday, when the sound of thunder abated, the tribes of CA congregated for just one hour to a sacred spot called Bar Tetre Rouge in the hope of sighting the mythical Moose from Canada.
And those were glorious years when the thunder of the Gods Panoz, Audi, Aston and Corvette could be heard for miles in the surrounding country side and the Sun always shone.
Now the tribes of CA are mostly in 2 separate areas, requiring long journeys past many watering holes to visit their friends, and some falter on the journey, dragged away from their purpose by the temptations along the way.
So let's resurrect the Meet the Moose session, you never know the Sun might return.

Count me in.

Possibly / probably in, doesn't sound like its too far from Tertre Rouge camping so no excuse not to really! Is that the bar in the 'dip' at the top end of the Mulsanne?

That's the one, thanks. ;)

My train gets into Le Mans at about 8pm, so I was planning on heading straight for the Tetre Rouge bar. Reckon I could be there for 9!
-
Sounds like a plan !
-
Well what a grand idea. I assume Phil is paying? >:D
-
Only for this
-
That's another yes from me!
-
That ain't to far a hike from our spot, I think I'll join in.
-
Will probably aim for it, actual presence may depend on constraining consumption during the day........

Years since I have been so help please!
Best directions from BN? Up the pit straight, down to Tetre Rouge, under via the tunnel, can you still get out that way? Or in via Houx, into the annex and then where?
-
Head from the Dunlop Bridge (Outside) down towards the Esses (where the pine forest used to be).
Under the tunnel.
Then go up the banking on the Right, take in the photo opportunity from the banking inside Tertre Rouge.
Walking towards TR, go to the far end of the banking and down the stairs.
(Team Langoustine Camping is on your right)
Go out the EXIT directly in front of you and turn left.
Under the route underpass and Bob's your aunties husband.

Drop in to Houx to see us happy campers and we'll wander there for the Moose Meet.
-
If you walk on the outside of the track past Tetre Rouge there is still an entrance/exit there, or there was 2 years ago.
Then its just turn right and head to the bar.

Thanks everyone!
Steve will you guys be more or less in the same position as last year on Houx? We called in last year in the Thursday night rain storm but I think you and Neil had already gone to bed by the time we got there.

Sorry guys. I was there but thought nobody else was, so left at 9.30.
Perhaps try it again next year.
-
Always worth a try, maybe a definitive time and place though? 😉
A pleasure to make your acquaintance Rhino, and your camp mates, see you next year! (Hope you didn't fall off the treader too many times on your way back to TR)

I was fine. We did have a falling off bike incident Saturday evening. Trip to medical centre for 6 stitches. Not me.
