Seeing the popularity of Turn 10 patches I thought we might get some CA ones done.
Who would have one if I got some made?
If you do want one, would you prefer them to be round or square?
How big?
-
Could they be like nicotine patches? I mean releasing alcohol perhaps even in flavours .beat the no carry in rules.
-
Patches? What, like sew on patches? Interested but not sure what in at the moment ???
-
Baseball caps might be more useful.
And more unique.
I would take one!

I've had caps made in the past and they have been moderately popular. The polo shirts did well too but I'm not sure I want to go through that pain again. At least caps and patches are one size fits all.

Patches? What, like sew on patches? ......
I've had this argument several times.
My solution - nobody likes sewing, so you can stick a patch to a plain baseball cap with hot glue. My supplier has gone bust but plain caps in various styles and colours are £2 and up on eBay. And if you want one on a t-shirt/polo shirt, eBay also have sewing kits.
There's also a local "corporate wear" supplier, who, if given a design, will sew it into shirts/make stickers etc. Costs vary, but very many options.
I still wear my CA polo shirt in France. Must be over 10 years old
-
A patch would be good...
...and yes I'd sew it on!
-
Well yes, a patch would be good, and I could sew it onto my hat, a proper hat that is, not a new fangled 'baseball' style thingy.
So we're talking sew on and of a size suitable for hats, amongst other things. I remain interested! ;)
-
I'd be interested. Probably go on a hat.

Was planning on putting one below the white ensign I'm going to have put on the sleeve of the 'Le Mans' jacket...
-
I could go for a circular patch which might suit the CA logo, or a square one... thoughts?
-
A CA patch would look nice on my latest headwear acquisition.
If it's good enough for Sir JYS, good enough for my humble noggin.

I was going to ask if we could have another polo shirt run, mine are getting a bit tired.
Would order 5 so that they would last.

Hi Fax, In case you did not know that is the Stewart Hunting Tartan.
Which part of your Scottish ancestry entitles you to wear that Tartan? ;D
Phil
-
Hi Phil,
Damn good to hear from you! Actually my family has some Scottish blood in our ancestors, my sister had a DNA test done, we're a bit of a Scandinavian, Scottish/Irish, German mix. In other words we're a Western European mish-mash. The official name of that tartan is Stewart Hunting Ancient, I contacted a tartan shop that does flat caps and they knew exactly what I was looking for. The only question was how I wanted the pattern oriented on the cap. Jackie has worn several caps of that tartan and they're all differently oriented.
I opted for the blue strip down the center for two reasons, Jackie's teammate, pupil, and dear friend Francois Cevert had light blue stripes on his helmet, and Jackie's rival, and good friend (and my boyhood hero) Ronnie Peterson wore a blue helmet. I like to think Sir Jackie would approve of the reasons for my decision.
Cheers,
Fax

I could do a polo run if there is sufficient interest, but this time I might have to be slightly less accommodating of deviations from the standard white on navy colour scheme.

I don't understand the relation of F1 and Les Vingt-Quatre ??? but...

I have a quote for woven patches. The price would be £2.50 each including UK postage on the basis of selling 100 of them. Obviously if they prove popular and I can have more made in a run it would bring that down a bit. As a guide price for multiple patches on the same order: £2.50 for the first one and £1.75 for additional.
Reply to this topic with the number of patches you would like.

Put me down for two. I assume normal artwork and colour (see top left), and normal size.
BTW can somebody confirm the standard colour, as I think its turquoise, which is where I'm colourblind. I've just bought a "dusky blue" jumper, and it looks turquoise to me.
And a polo shirt (The old one's well travelled, I suspect many bartenders in Spain think I have a Bentley)
-
Polo run.
I"ll order 5, all the same size , no fancy requests , white on blue.
Anybody else?
-
I would take a couple of patches , & would be interested in a Polo shirt if there is a gunna be a run
-
I would take 2 patches.
Where do I send the money?

Once I have enough interest I'll be able to post a firm price and accept payments. I'll give it a week or so.

-
Yep, I'll take a pair of patches if you're ordering.
Just let me know how much & where/who to pay.

Damn it, four patches for me, I'm not gonna be doing the sewing after all ... ;D
-
Put me down for 2
-
Ill take one - The dog can have it on his coat
-
I'm up for one.
-
OK, it looks like we are ON for patches. I'll get the manufacturer to do some digital proofs and I'll upload them here.
As for polo shirts, my usual supplier has put prices up a bit so I'm looking into alternatives.
-
Patch update.
I've placed the order and I'm now awaiting design proofs. I'm told it will be about 10 days until we see anything.
-
I'll have one.
-
top job
-
Might do with a few for my fireproofs in the pitlane
-
I'll take 3 patches please.
-
Here is the digital proof of the patches. They are 70mm on the long side. It's a pdf so it won't embed, you'll have to follow the link to see it.

I'm having 100 patches made in this run. That should be enough for the current demand. If they prove popular I'll get some more made.
-
Excellent.
Have you got a price yet?
-

Just what I was thinking for my firesuit
Put me on the list please
-
