A lot of talks going on already about next year's race at Sebring on the CA facebook group, so time to start a topic over here ...
Who's going ? ;D.
Latest news on the WEC race: according to Hindy on MWM it could be run on Friday afternoon 3pm to 12 am (9 Hour race instead of 1500 miles).
I wouldn't rule it out but as the mrs is retiring next week it might take a bit of negotiation to get away for a "solo" holiday. In March. In Florida. In the sun!!!
Been chatting to Woolley about this over a lunch time beer. It's a yes from me.

Hopefully we won't arrive in the aftermath of a tornado next year. .

It's been more than 10 years since I was last there, so I reckon a return visit is in order.

I still remember getting onto the highway after we left the airport and you asking me where we were heading. Your face when I said, "Towards that big black cloud" was an absolute picture. ;D ;D ;D

How, Mr B, has it been so long? Even I've not been away that long and I was living on the other side of the world.

Looks like some 2019 pre-planning is in order.
It's on my hit list next year too. 2009 was my last visit.
My flight is booked already.
Is on the list to do next year
Flights and rental booked early April already. ;D
Nothing booked but I'll be there.
t,
Does anyone know if it will be the usual Wednesday morning to Saturday night event? I could assume they need a day more for the additional WEC practice sessions and the WEC race. Would be useful to know when planning for the arrival there...
'Don't know offhand....'didja try Sebring? I'll ring them up tomorrow and report back..... ;)
edit: Aaaahhhh....the internet can be one's friend. Apparently, the same.
"the March 13-16 event will feature more racing, more cars and a heightened experience for fans with the WEC's 6th round of its Super Season now becoming the 1000 Miles of Sebring (or 8 hours, whichever comes first) and taking place on Friday March 15 starting in the afternoon and finishing at night."

2019 I really wanted to go, and had it all planned in my head asd I'm usually in Tampa around that time for work .... then the annual conference I attend has been moved in 2019 to the end of March, and being there for >2 weeks isn't an option. Buggery arses! :(
That's a shame. But don't worry, we'll fill you in with all the stories and happenings over a beer in Spa.
Cheers, Bob :(
