All we need is a grand between us and as well as supporting the little beauty we even get a chance to win a corking "Team CA Forum" track day car!!
www.maisonblanche.co.uk/n040126.html (http://www.maisonblanche.co.uk/n040126.html) or www.morganworks.com (http://www.morganworks.com)
Just 25 notes each if we can get 40 of us!! And I'm sure the Grand Fromage wouldn't mind chipping in, would you Dave??? ;)
-
So will this get us exclusive access to the Morgan pits and hospitality facilities?
-
Good idea,
not sure I want to share the tee shirt or sit on the lap of 39 other geezers though, maybe the freebiees could be raffled?
-
Somehow I have to question how they're going to let 1000 people have exclusive access to the pits etc. I think this is toss. At least the Racers Group were offering accomodation etc. last year.
Next they'll be posting on ebay too!
-
So will this get us exclusive access to the Morgan pits and hospitality facilities
Suspect not - the Morgan website says that you will get race entrance and a reserved grandstand seat (so nothing different from what we normally do there) - the site quotes "The first 300 applications received will be allocated grandstand seats immediately opposite the Morgan pit. Others will be seated in nearby grandstands". As to access to the team/pits, it seems to be limited to - "Exclusive invitation to the team’s UK media launch and a Pre-race exclusive VIP private function to meet your fellow Official Partners from around the world, the drivers and the team, with special celebrity guests". The competition for the car only gets to be a reality if they get 1000 members.
-
first i start the year helping to sponsor the Kart world Mg entry for BTCC, then we add in a URL on the MG Factory outfit.
Now there is a chance to sponsor the Morgan. ..........
I would put in £25, But not till next pay day.
-
Wor Lass will go mad (again), but count me in. We can have a draw for the prizes/give-aways. £25 is worth it just for that sense of pride/ feel good factor every time it goes round the track(even though I though it was an ugly beast). Wasted a lot more on a night out. Come on lads (and lasses) dig deep.
-
I'm in if we get enough interest.
-
It's got to be worth £25.
As Nordic suggested, we could raffle the freebies between us and if we win the car then we can either share it or sell it. Should get £40K for it so we'd end up with a grand each!! :)
-
Excellent!! Good work chaps!
So far then we have five of the 40 required: Robbo, Stu, Steve B, JP and me. Keep 'em coming!!
;D

Count me in, come on boys only 34 to go so dig deep. As Stu says it will add a little more interest to the week end at Lemons.
-
Just had a thought wonder if they would put a ca sticker on it " Real men do it for 24 hours " If the TWATS can sticker a car why not us.
-
Yep count me in as well , Just got concerns Bri, if it adds MORE interest to the week in le Mans does that mean I have got to stay sober and pay attention
-

In a few weeks i will know if i have any "profits" from the t shirts. maybe able to put a £10 in for the stickers from the t shirts

Great idea Brian........but I think they may want more than £1000 for that??
-

Don't panic Ian, you won't have to stay sober!!!! You'll just have to get there even earlier!!! ;)
-
Welcome aboard Brian and Ian!! Keep 'em coming chaps!!
;D
-
JP we will be on site on Sunday the 6th, Kindly send me a letter I can give to the long haired one so I can go even earlier and maybe I might even beat Gab to MB
-
Ian, pass it on mate as you aint goin anywhere without me.
-
Another £25 here...specially as it's named after me...
-
...specially as it's named after me...
'Aero 8' ? ? ? :D
-

Cheers Smokie! Let's hope it's not "smokie" after just a few hours then!!
;D
-
'Aero 8' ? ? ? :D
LOL...no, Morgan!!
-
come on boys dig deep only £800 to go >:(
-
Another £25 here...specially as it's named after me...
Go on, against my better judgement, but how could I not cough up £25 for a car called Geoff? ;D ;D
-
Sure I can find £25 as well. Mind you if we doubled it to £50 each we'd be nearer the target and have twice the chance of winning the goodies!
By the way if we win the Morgan I want it as camping in Expo!
-
Did the Moorgans return last year Chris??
One of our guys has a Plus 8. He went with them for the spin around the track in 2002 but didn't camp with them in the shelters 'coz they were so snooty!!
-
Go on then, god only knows why though.
Could be the best 25 quid I ever spend, you never know.
What do we do with the money, does anyone know?
-
Going well and thanks Nobby and all who have pledged so far. Just hang on to the pennies and then if we get close to or reach our target then I'll get in touch and ask for cheques & collate suggestions as to what to do with the goodies.
Getting there! Don't forget to ask any mates who might be going but don't participate on the forum too.
;D
-
'Aero 8' ? ? ? :D
LOL...no, Morgan!!
My daughter is called Morgan, and I'm from Malvern (well, live in Somerset now, but get there regular enough!)
Go on then, I'm in...! Add me to the list
-
Okeydoke, make it we're up to 13 now. Still working on my fellow travellers too.
Might I suggest that even if we make the target beforehand, we hang on until the entry list is published, because they ran the same thing last year only to get turned away!!
;)

Thats fine by me but seeing as I'm now committed for £25 and the morgan falls through, we can try TVR etc and see what our £1000 will get us. I'll be happy with a CA sticker on any british car. (Rule Britannia and all that tally ho). If the TWATS can do it, so can we. Stiff upper lips chaps.
Stu

Yes, I agree. I'll be happy to go along with the majority descision.
-
They are slow on here at putting the old hand in the pocket, dont you know. Come on guys dont be minge bags for the rest of your life, cough up a pledge of 25 quid. Who knows he may not even make the 40 but f***k me how many CA, members are there? and he is only asking for 40 of us.It would be a different story if it was T shirts or mugs so get off your arse and contribute a pledge.
COUNT ME IN.
Paula. :-*xxxxxxx
-
Whoops ,another drunk rant, sorry, deleted to try and hold onto the thread topic
LETS SPONSOR A BREAT BRITISH RACING CAR
-
Robbo, there is no way mate that we on this forum should see you out of pocket on the T shirt thing, not after all the effort that you have put in.
If after the twelve days you are looking down the barrel of a loss, I will be the first to air my veiws very strongly and come to your assistance ( fluck me if that does not get me a mug fluck all will) I am sure that we on here can sort it out. Lets sponsor a Robbo.
Dont get to down hearted.
Take care.
Brian.
-
Forgot to say that I have posted this here to leave the t shirt thread open.( Robbos last post )
Brian.
-
Deleted by me , now sober and calm
SORRY FOR CHANGING THE THREAD RICK
-
I have the advantage of getting infomation quite legally about who they are, where they live and all the rest, if the dosh either doesnt re-appear or .................
Thanks for the offer though.
SORRY FOR CHANGING THE THREAD RICK
Name and shame them Robbo (unless I'm on the list ) on your own thread. Your obviously like me tonight, up late and had a few to many and up for a good rant. Lets get back to the car sponsorship. Now where's that Isle of Jura bottle. Ha way lads (and lasses) get them pledges in. Think of it as Morgan in Need Day. At least you'll be able to see that product of your doanation for a change.
-
Excellent!! Good work chaps!

Please count me in. to whom to make payment? See y`all shampoo 21.00 sat. Wiggin..
-
Rickmeister, how many do we have now, time for an update.
Brian.
-
Well, count me in then!
Mind you, if poor old Robbo's having trouble with 9 quids I suspect there's some very deep pockets out there. The arm length:pocket depth ratio is very important in these matters.
How're keeping Brian?
Up the Station!

UPDATE TIME:
Now up to 16 by my reckoning.
So far; Robbo, Stu, Steve, JP, Brian, Ian, Smokie, Andy Z, Chrisgr31, Nobby, Barry, Dreamracer, Big H, Wiggin and last (but by far means least) our own CA pin-up Paula ;)

Big H, I am fine looks as if half of your crew are now travelling with us this year.

Well if we coughed up 2 lots of £25 each we'd only need 2 more people!
Sorry to appear infrequently by the way, and hoping Robbo got my cheque for the T Shirt!

Yes they were there, they take up most of the shelters and do appearquite snotty. Theres usually one who looks on in amazement as the others wash their cars every morning!
We have twice managed to nick a shelter from under their noses, as the shelters have advantages if it rains!
-
Come on boy's we are nearly there. if Paula the drooler is good for 25 smackeroonies surley we have at least six more, dig deep bastards,( see if the swear thingy deletes that) ;D
-
No it did not ,thats one more to becoming a yabbgod.
-
Once i have finished paying off the SPS ferries and tickets, I may have another £25 to add from the group, not me ( sort of thingy )
-
I'm sure Mr & Mrs RS2 can stump up £25 between us for good old blighty, stiff upper lip and all that now we're expats ........we can sell one of our cats to raise the money.....
-
we can sell one of our cats to raise the money
Wouldn't that be an MOT failure though? :)
-
Sorry lads but anything other than the Morgan and i would be at the front of the queue.I just cannot, however hard i try, cannot give anything to the embarassment that is the Mog.
PM
-
I agree, i was'nt impressed by it the other year and i cannot see it doing well this year.

I'm easy with my money going to any British outfit. (of the Le Mans type before anyone starts). We could ask TVR If we can have somes goodies and a CA sticker on for £1000. And a CA group photo would be nice standing round the car taken with Ricks flashy camera. Now that would definitly be worth £25 and could be done on the Friday morning (thats if they let us).
-
I guess I can find 25 notes if we can get photo's of us with car. Also coud we raffle of the hospitality ticket BEFORE the race?
-
That's a great idea Stu!!
40 of us in CA t-shirts behind whatever British car we end up sponsoring. I like it! :D
-
Yes,I have to agree with Stu on that one

Didn't it do OK at the 1000kms in November?? It was much improved and I believe finished 18th overall, in between the two TVRs!

Still looked like a mobile church though!!

With Club Arnage.Com down her side even prettier.
-
How DO you determine whether the car is a he or a her?? ;)
-
My cars are always SHE's , makes then sexual. :-X
-
He's start easily and run smoothly come rain or shine.
Her's take ages to get going and are unpredictable.
-
Face it lads, you can't polish a turd, even by sponsoring it.

Yeah, but ......................er, actually, there is no answer to that!!
I note you are not on the "list" Matt, can I take this as a "no" then??

Smokie
I think of you as being a bit like a veteran car; you only "rally" a couple of times a year and when you do, you have to be started by hand! ;) ;D
The Commer is of course a transexual. A bit like it's owne.... Er? ??? ???

Mornin' all. In truth, I admire anyone who has the gritty resolve and the dream to participate in this race. Even if they choose to attempt it in an idiosynchratic machine like the Aero 8, variety being the spice of life, and all.
That said, for me, admiration does not usually extend to forking out my hard earned to the cause - particularly if it's a lost cause. It's rather like backing a donkey in the Grand National, in my opinion.
I suspect that the Czars of Malvern (i.e. the Morgan family) are not short of a bob or two. The company might be a little light in the coffers, but ol' "plum in the mouth" Charles seems fairly well-heeled. Why doesn't he back his own product, the chinless in-bred bufoon?
The guys who are trying to run that car deserve respect, for the sheer enormity and hopelessness of the task. The manufacturer wants his namby-pamby arse kicking.
Just my 2c worth.... and it shouldn't be obvious that I had a bit of a run-in with Charles Morgan once - the tight-fisted twat.
-
I see where they are bringing one to Sebring. I give it about an hour before its a shambles. Between the Sebring bumps and the LMP & GTS guys bashing off of it, should be shedding bodywork with regularity.

Just to keep this on page 1, any more taker's out there.

Thanks for the "bump" Brian!
Fingers crossed for when the entry list comes out after Sebring!
;D
