Title: New Labour laws Post by: Dijon Mustard on February 11, 2004, 09:07:27 pm Can someone educate me on the new labour laws that are going to be in effect in England. I keep reading about how these new laws are going to affect F1 teams, but haven't seen any explanation how.
TIA Title: Re:New Labour laws Post by: pretzel on February 11, 2004, 11:41:38 pm Is it labour laws or is it the laws on liability etc. in the event of a fatal accident in F1 (or presumably any other form of sport) that could be applied?
There have been a number of reports in the motoring press this week here about what could happen to team principals, engineers and the like in this event, and a number of F1 team bosses have threatened to boycott any events where this applies. Plenty on the web too. Title: Re:New Labour laws Post by: Andy Zarse on February 12, 2004, 03:59:19 pm No. 35 hr week is France, not the UK. And jolly controversial it is too, by the sound of it. Although, one wonders how long it will take to get here.
Incidentally, this silly rule is why you can't get a taxi in France on a Sunday night and ultimately was responsible for my (wrongful) arrest in the infamous Mayor/Goat/Flagpole incident of a few years ago. If there'd been a taxi available none of this would ever have happened, the goat wouldn't have sh it on the Mayor's stair carpet or jumped on his bed and therefore it was definitely: NOT MY FAULT. ;) Title: Re:New Labour laws Post by: gibberish on February 12, 2004, 04:57:02 pm No. 35 hr week is France, not the UK.
