A bit anorakish I know, but I have put together a online photo album. It mainly comprises the early 80's Le Mans, Silverstone & Brands at the moment but more will added soon when the scanner cools down.
Have a look and let me know

Very good, and very good shots. I presume you took them from spectator areas ???

Love the Bob Tullius Jagwah! :)
A very important car IMO. I always felt it led the way and demonstrated to the bosses at Jag what was possible with the V12 in a sports car, thereby giving rise to the TWR Jags in all their glory. Still my faves.

Thanks Robbo,
Thats right, all taken from public areas with a pretty basic camera compared to modern standards that got nicked in 87 (along with some undeveloped film of the 87 LM race), so there is a few missing years as the insurance money got spent on other teenage type stuff.

Excellent pictures Nordic. The one thing that struck me was how little fences there were in those days. Nowadays, there aren't much fence-less spots left.

My co - driver found a good one at the ford Chichanes as theey are breaking.

Excellent. Very evocotive and atmospheric. Look how small the crowd was in the early 80's (when, like many others on this forum, I started going) - more of an 'audience' really.

Nordic - great - top stuff and not anorakish - thanks for taking the time to set it up and sharing it. :)

Nordic, you've made me all wistfull now.
The 80's were the wilderness years for me when I was away most of the time down in the filthy fuel oil smelling boiler rooms of supertankers - or bilge diving for the golden rivet :-[
Hence, I didn't get to see much sportscar racing (or dry land come to think of it, or the sun, oh well.....I digress).
Pretty much the only contact we had with the outside world was via the BBC World Service and morse code messages from passing seagulls.
Anyway, I've had a word with Herbert George Wells, and I'm booked on the next journey back in time, to a year of my choice, so 1986 it is.
Plus, I'll be able to put in a block booking with the ACO for MB tickets for 2006.

Thanks for the kind words, Hopefully I will sort the pictures for 83 that don't come up over the weekend.
I have found how to add text as well so may add a some. :)
The next batch should be added soon and will include not only the ADA TR7 but some F1/F2 from the mid 80s.
Thundersports, Hillclimbs etc.
Regards.

Looking forward to it Nordic. Got any of Nic Mann in the awesome V8 Morris Minor?
