Title: t-car Post by: Werner on March 01, 2004, 11:18:24 am Remember the good old days when some teams still had money for t-cars?
Which year was this picture taken? Cheers Werner [attachment deleted by admin] Title: Re:t-car Post by: hgb on March 01, 2004, 12:19:40 pm 1985. The car only practiced, hence the T.
Title: Re:t-car Post by: rcutler on March 01, 2004, 12:43:05 pm That was a bit fast hgb. I knew that one as i was on holiday we broke down near le mans and I remember watching it on TV ???
Title: Re:t-car Post by: Werner on March 01, 2004, 01:24:34 pm Sorry, hgb and rcutler, but this one is definitely not on my 1985 film rolls.
Any better guess? Title: Re:t-car Post by: Nordic on March 01, 2004, 01:33:52 pm The T car in 83 was number 33 no works cars in 84 not 85 the car looks more 956 than 962 so that makes it 82, the first year the 956 ran. Title: Re:t-car Post by: Nordic on March 01, 2004, 01:43:51 pm What an arse its 86, its a 962 and the rothmans logo does not match 82.
Title: Re:t-car Post by: Werner on March 01, 2004, 01:44:41 pm sorry nordic, it's not a 956, the year is still wrong. Come on, who knows?
Title: Re:t-car Post by: Werner on March 01, 2004, 01:46:40 pm hi nordic,
just saw your second posting on this thread, you got it right, its a 962 C in the year 1986. More pics of this race on http://www.lemanszone.de -> 1986 section Title: Re:t-car Post by: Nordic on March 01, 2004, 02:15:32 pm And here!

Title: Re:t-car Post by: Andy Zarse on March 01, 2004, 06:37:15 pm I agree Matt. I'm no expert but it seems to be in some sort of sprint or short tail trim. Not really what you would want on the pre-chicane Mulsanne straight is it?
Anyone who know's better care to comment? PS Werner, great to hear from you again. How's life in Hanoi? Don't be such a stranger on CA! 8) Title: Re:t-car Post by: Werner on March 03, 2004, 08:47:33 am Hi Andy,
yes, nice to be back on the forum and also nice to be back in Europe (Germany). After 5 years we've left Hanoi as planned, our contracts were finished and are now back in Cologne. Still miss a few things from Vietnam, the good food, rice wine and motocycle riding, but living in Germany now makes my visits to Le Mans as lot easier and much cheaper!!! |
