Title: France vs England on the 13th
Post by: Lancs Se7en on March 09, 2004, 04:23:38 pm: This should make for an interesting evening. We presumably will have a choice of events as the Canadian GP is also on the Sunday evening. Most spectators will have departed by then so does anyone know of an appropriate bar to watch the match.

The Lotus Seven Club normally show the race but what about the footy

Post by: Werner on March 10, 2004, 10:38:59 am: To watch the game you could try the "Cafe Bar Aux Portes du Circuit" which is (as it's name says) close to the main entrance, opposite the Expo campground. I remember watching Euro- or Worldcup-games on several occasions there. Another option which has worked out successfully in the past was to walk around the campgrounds after the race, look out for satellite dishes and ask the people wether they watch the game and wether you can join them.

Post by: Werner on March 10, 2004, 12:03:51 pm: Not sure wether they serve Heineken (brrr... disgusting) or Kronenburg (even worse) there, but the big sign above the entrance says "Aux Portes du Circuit" and there is no other bar opposite the Expo campground, so it's easy to find. This place is also famous for watching some drag-racing on the street in front of it, unfortunately often interupted by the police.

I'd post a photo I took in 2003 (Heineken), but every time I put the camera to my eye a moron in a Chelsea shirt had to drop his drawers to show me his fat hairy a*se, and it's not a pretty sight. Interestingly, he thought this was hilarious.....

Just worried the trailer will move a little. Local bloke currently making up a very substantial pole holder to attach to the A frame on the trailer.

sports bar in Arnage will no doubt have the footie on i reckon, but past years has always been the GP.

Taking the trailer to the welders next week for some heavy duty solutions. The pole will be inserted into the ground , held in place via the A frame, therefore keeping it preety still.
