Title: Lord Rick Post by: Andy Zarse on May 16, 2003, 04:20:58 pm Lord Rick of Maisonblanchshire,
What's all this hobnobbing with the French aristocracy and staying as a guest in a Chateau? Getting a bit above our station aren't we? http://www.maisonblanche.co.uk/n030515b.html http://chateaudelabarre.com/ Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: smokie on May 16, 2003, 04:27:35 pm I wonder which field his tent was in??
Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Mr. Rick on May 17, 2003, 01:48:34 am Sorry about that chaps! Disappearing up my own arse with self-importance I feel!!
However, the good Count & Countess were kind enough to extend me their fine hospitality and rave about it I shall!!! Let's face it, the sleeping arrangements were the back of the 806 until the Thursday before testing. The place is gorgeous and a perfect place to impress any of our "better" halves, or whichever wench we are trying to impress. Real history here. Please, no more mention of "Lord", just plain "Sir" will do in future!! ;) Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Mr. Rick on May 17, 2003, 01:59:03 am And it was so posh, I had to behave myself. The MBWS staying firmly within the hand luggage.
:-X Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: felix on May 17, 2003, 02:18:44 am Is he related to Lord Charles ( or am I showing my age ?)
Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Mr. Rick on May 17, 2003, 09:35:37 am Is he related to Lord Charles ( or am I showing my age ?) Definitely! That's right on the fringe of the old memory banks and I'm fast approaching 40! ;D Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Andy Zarse on May 17, 2003, 01:56:42 pm Rick
It would have been rude to decline their kind offer! As for Lord Charles, I remember him too, but I never found him that funny. The big 4-0h is fast approaching for me too. Frightening particularly as I still have a mental age of 15. Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Mr. Rick on May 17, 2003, 02:29:28 pm Mental age of 15 sounds about right for me too!!
Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: smokie on May 17, 2003, 03:13:32 pm OMG you guys are BRAGGING about how LOW your IQ is now...please don't start arguing about who has the lowest!!
Size isn't important anyway, it's what you do with it... ;D Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Lord Steve on May 19, 2003, 09:09:11 pm Lord Rick!!!!
I'll have you chaps know that I'm having my people do a trawl of Debretts to find out who this bounder and cad is!! Sir Rick of Maisonblanchire a.k.a. The Rickmeister is undoubtedly the knowledgeship and faxmaster of the LM groovethang, but a Lord!, good grief, you only have to see his Saturday morning ablutions once in your life to be permanently mentally scarred. Noble Sir Rick of Lincolnshire Lord Steve of Epworth Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Mr. Rick on May 19, 2003, 10:03:41 pm Lord Steve, you just couldn't let it lie could you? Can't a man wash in public anymore???!!! ;)
Be sure to be at the head of the queue as the Sat a.m. hose down is getting more popular every year and is sure to be outlawed soon. Actually, the Monday lunchtime version is worse as there are so few people around it gets more graphic! Maybe that's really why the gippos come back every year ... Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Andy Zarse on May 20, 2003, 11:36:02 am And one last thing your Lordship.
WASPS FOR THE CUP!!!!!!!!!!! Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Mr. Rick on May 20, 2003, 12:01:07 pm Not one for witty repartee etc. I shall respond in the only manner I know.......
B O L L O C K S ! ! ! ! ! Although in fairness, given the recent form etc. you have good grounds for your reasoned analysis and fair play to you for I feel those good fellows at Mr. William Hill's emporium in town agree with you. But I will still wear the colours with pride (and desperate hope!) on Sunday. Whether "Shep celebrating" is still my chosen image on Monday, only time will tell!! Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Andy Zarse on May 20, 2003, 12:35:17 pm May it please his Lordship to note that Messrs Ladbrooks also reckon Bath are going to get a right old kicking. Shep will be crying into his beer.
But I hope it's a good match, you never know. Have a top day out! Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Mr. Rick on May 20, 2003, 03:01:52 pm Cheers Andy!
I'm driving to the match so any crying into my own beer will have to be done on my return to the Flatlands on Sunday night. Nice to be the underdogs these days in a strange sort of way .. it was always boring (NOT!) when we won everything!! I remember the days etc........... ;D Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Andy Z on May 26, 2003, 06:04:38 pm Poor old Shep!!
Bad luck but outplayed imo. Wasps were pretty awsome. The curse! Hope you're not supporting Bentley this year cos if so it looks like Audi four years ina row. Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Mr. Rick on May 26, 2003, 10:50:48 pm To be expected I guess, always chasing the game after that 3 try burst in the first half though. Still, a good day out and an excuse to introduce my 5 year old son to the game other than a little run out for Bourne RFC!
Nearly time to focus on the upcoming event, but first a trip to Madrid, but without staying in a chateau this time ;) Cheers Rick ;D Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Mr. Rick on May 26, 2003, 11:44:42 pm Missed out from earlier reply:
You are indeed spot on old fruit, Wasps were easily the better side (that hurts to admit!!), but as said earlier, to be expected, even ahead of their game next week. As for any Bentley supporters, you are safe. My faves for this year are the #23 Team Bucknum Racing Pilbeam and the #11 Panoz with Gunnar Jeannette. Purely personal reasons but at least that paves the way for the "Green Audis" to wave the flag for Anglo-German relations!! I mean, did anyone overhear any Bentley mechanics at testing? Purlease!! What does "das ist einen super Schwantz" mean anyway? Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Andy Zarse on May 27, 2003, 01:54:45 pm Do you mean schwanzig, German for twenty?
When I was in Austria in March, a popular song in the bars and clubs was sung by some bird and the chorus was about her desire for "Schwanzig Centimeter". Perhaps she was a Bentley mechanic too! Excuse me, my German is crap, but some of the other lines left little to the imagination! I think it was something like "Sticken sie grosses pimell im mein heisses wangen. Ooohhhh yahh, das ist musch besser" Maybe Werner can help us with the translation? What does it mean??? Title: Re:Lord Rick Post by: Mr. Rick on May 27, 2003, 02:26:55 pm Well last time I heard the phrase was some enthusiastic young lady to a certain John Holmes .. I'm sure that's what the mechanic said anyway (not to me I hasten to add!)
