I'm told by Just Tickets that I don't need a camping permit as I'm travelling on foot and not taking a vehicle of any kind. Is this accurate?
Also, are there any banking facilities on-site that will let me draw money using a Maestro or Cirrus card?

Yep its true, you can just wander onto a campsite and pitch up as long as you don't have a car, bus, motorcycle etc.

True, you could even camp in the circuit confines.
And no there isnt a hole in wall. Nearest is Monce en Berlin or near carrefour.
you also don't need a permit to have bank, just do it in the privacy of your tent.

There have been cash machine at the circuit for many years now. Two years ago they were behind the village and we were interviewed by the french national news as two why we travel to france for the event. Last year the cash machines were just behind the turnstiles at the main entrance. There was not a surcharge for using these other than the normal for using a UK card in France.

yeah they definetely had temp cash machines a few years ago, not sure about last year tho
what a cracking interview we put up for the tv crew. it probably made no sense!!

Hey Pilgrim, I'm planning the same thing. Walking in with a backpack, no car, travelvan, or tent. I'm glad you asked the question. I would bet there will be a lot of folks doing that.

I'm not sure about this practice. At Expo they hand out countermarks when leaving the campground and check them on re-entry, even when you walk in, at least on Saturday/Sunday

I think the cash machines in the village tend to run out of cash quite quickly and not always topped up, i think you need to be prepared for this!

It used to be like that in the old Tribunes campsite. But I've not seen it on places like Houx, MB, BJ or Karting Nord.

Hi Pilgrim,
From the above you can indeed walk in with just a General Admission ticket and as the only control of campsites is by vehicle they have no way of checking you. As stated Bank machines at the track are
unpredictable however the city is not far away and lots of banks accept Cirrus. Some merchants have problems processing non French Credit Cards.

Ah you beat me to it Smokie!!! That's the one I always use as it seems to like my cards! The one at Carrefour always does a gallic shrug and spits my card back with a resounding "non"!!!!
