Title: Re:The weather Post by: carsarecool on May 26, 2004, 01:04:15 pm 26 degrees! That'll do nicely. I'll unpack the pacamac if it stays like that!
STILL 2 WEEKS TO GO!!!! Title: Re:The weather Post by: Ruptured Duck Motorsport on May 26, 2004, 01:54:00 pm WOOHOO!
Title: Re:The weather Post by: Andy Zarse on May 26, 2004, 05:31:42 pm Don't get too exited. These people talk cobblers. They might as well hang some seaweed by the back door. :( >:( :(
Title: Re:The weather Post by: hgb on May 26, 2004, 05:54:38 pm Doesn't realy matter for me. We go through rain or shine. After all, we are real men.
Title: Re:The weather Post by: dryhen on May 26, 2004, 06:16:09 pm After all, we are real men. Who do it for 24 hours - to quote last year's sticker ! Title: Re:The weather Post by: Chris (Liverpool Boys) on May 26, 2004, 07:42:58 pm Just make sure you re proof the tent, pack waterproofs aron jumpers and thermal kecks and forget your sun lotion, hat and sun glasses/dark visor (for anyone on two wheels) and you can garuntee it will not piss down.
Title: Re:The weather Post by: smokie on May 26, 2004, 09:03:55 pm Talking of kecks (is that REALLY how it's spelt??) I got some new ones in M&S the other week soecially for LM. If I'd realised that they were different patterns inside and outside, I could have just bought the one pair and turned them inside out midweek.
Maybe I'll save the others for next year. Title: Re:The weather Post by: mgmark on May 26, 2004, 10:53:29 pm Quote These people talk cobblers. They might as well hang some seaweed by the back door Try here - the aviation weather is pretty much spot on most of the time http://www.phd.nl/aviation/wx/ (http://www.phd.nl/aviation/wx/) From the drop down menu, select either the USAF Surface Analysis option covering 12-120 hours ahead, or the Precipitation Rate option covering 00-144 hours ahead. They're the most user friendly and relevant options. For those who remember the start of the 2001 race and the rain shortly after the start, these charts had been predicting that rain about 5 days in advance and the timing was spot on. Been here all evening, missed tea, beer etc...
Will it be hot or not? :) Title: Re:The weather Post by: Steve Pyro on May 27, 2004, 12:29:52 am With a car the size of yours, you can pack anything from your Artic tundra gear to your Peter Stringfellow thong Speedos. Think about us poor sods with a miniscule boot filled with a tent and a sleeping bag and a satellite dish for Robbo :'( Maybe I could use the dish as a sail ;) Title: Re:The weather Post by: mgmark on May 27, 2004, 12:55:39 am Quote Will it be hot or not? Patience my dear chap - all will unfold in due course :). Title: Re:The weather Post by: Brian(Liverpool boys) on May 27, 2004, 12:57:28 am Talking of kecks (is that REALLY how it's spelt??) Thats what I like about fashion icons, at pre Q, you put us Liverpool boys to shame with all your designer gear, Ethel Austin shirt, M&S kecks,British Home store socks and to top it all Timpsom boots. If only I we were fashion icons. Maybe I'll save the others for next year. Title: Re:The weather Post by: smokie on May 27, 2004, 12:58:38 am Yeah, shame innit.... ;)

No. No. NO!!!!!!! Title: Re:The weather Post by: jpchenet on May 27, 2004, 01:38:01 am Two days ago the long term forecast said it would be wet and cold. Today it says dry and 26 degrees C.
"There will not be a Hurricane" springs to mind. I think I'll wait until nearer the time before I decide what to packl!! Title: Re:The weather Post by: johnevans3 on May 29, 2004, 08:48:41 pm Well, this is the last time I can check the weather before I leave for Europe. It looks good for Friday but Saturday night has a 46% chance of showers. I'd better bring my rubber ducky if it rains at Le Mans like it can in Texas (east Texas not west Texas). See you guys soon. I'm packed and ready to go. I have waited a long, long time to be able to come to Le Mans. See yall Friday night or Saturday or whenever you guys manage to get up. Adios!!
Title: Re:The weather Post by: BigH on May 29, 2004, 10:26:53 pm John,
Don't get hung up about the weather mate, believe me it doesn't really matter, besides it's piddly little European stuff and shouldn't even break a Texans stride. If you visit MB campsite, keep an eye out for a dark blue mark2 Jag and drop in and announce yourself, it'll be a pleasure to open a cold bottle for you (and I'd be happy to loan you my waders). Have a great trip, and enjoy every last minute! H Title: Re:The weather Post by: Brian(Liverpool boys) on May 29, 2004, 11:41:06 pm John, look out for The Liverpool Boys, sign i assure u that u wont miss it. Big H will be next door to us if he is out socializing call in to our humble abode for a beer.
Brian. Title: Re:The weather Post by: johnevans3 on May 30, 2004, 02:59:40 am Will do guys. Hope to see lots of you folks. We leave for Dallas tomorrow afternoon to spend the night close to the airport, then off we go at 10:30 on Monday. We are planning to see lots of interesting places, Paris, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Pisa, Florence, Rome, Venice, then to Engelberg, Switzerland where I will catch the train for the highlight of the trip...I'm looking for a Jackalope for tmdg but have been unable to catch one. There are fast little buggers. Don't know if the airlines will let me bring a live one onboard. With all that security stuff they would probably think it's a fake Jack Rabbit or something. Later guys.
