I know it's not long now as the Autosport supplement is in next weeks issue, roll on Wednesday so I can get my hands on it. It will be read front to back and back to front before I even get near Portsmouth!!! ;D ;D

Ditto Abs,
For us, this is when we really start to realise hte week's about to commence.
Should also be a feature in Autocar either this week or next, last year written by Tiff Needell, gave us newbies a lot of info last year about what to do/see.
12 days to go!
-
Tomorrow is the day, early stroll to get the paper and pick up a copy of Autosport.
Get back and park myself in the office for a good read!!!
This time next week I'll be gone ;D ;D

I got my copy at the motorway services this morning. If it's a good read you're after, I think you might be a bit disappointed.

here here...could do better Autosport
-
I got one out from about 1995.Much more in it.
Autosport well under par this year

I reckon its around 20 pages of adverts, an index and the rest is features. Of the features, approximately 50% is taken up with very average photos; 1 of an empty grandstand, 1 of some headlights at night (could be the A404 near my house) and 1 of 8 blokes walking down a road. The remainder varies from mildly interesting to pretty boring.
Tosh, I'd say.

Ditto to all of that.
Veeeeerrrryyy disappointing this year.
Oh well, 6 days to go!!
-
Oh no!! it's deja vu all over again.....

well at least it fills a little gap until next week ;)

Right, as usual H.
Hunting down a copy of Autosport is too much like hard work here - but if I was in UK, I would have bought the Le Mans Supp issue - it is regurgitated crap, but it's also traditional and get's one in the mood, so to speak. That said, I think the banter here, now that we are running up to the race weekend is much more inspirational.

On the subject of Autosport, if anyone has a few minutes go to Autosport Online and check out last weeks Ask Nigel. His first question was who he thought was the most over-rated GP driver of all time. Made me chuckle because of the scolding I got for my bashing of Eddie Irvine on this forum a few month's ago. Whats really bizarre is that I can't f**k*ng stand Nigel Roebuck but he and I see eye to eye on this one.

Yes I was thinking how disappointing the supplement was. The map of where to view from is awful, in fact as there is no key it seems to infer you can watch from the Mulsanne straight etc.

Maybe they're more informed than we think then - perhaps they read this forum for a little more insight into the real Le Mans, after all those in the know here know very well that you can view from the Mulsanne if you really want to.

I did that but that is because it was in the way and needed moving

Sadly guys the last time I picked up a copy of Autosport it seems that sporstcar racing as well as most other forms of the sport other than F1 have been relegated to the back pages of the magazine, just before the classifieds. Autosport has really become a sad state. Time was when it covered all of motor racing as its name would imply but these days its been reduced to a F1 tabloid bird cage liner. They'll devote eight pages to David Coulthard taking a dump but their Le Mans coverage will get foour pages at best in the back pages. I stopped wasting my money on it years ago.

Yes, but you could "Win the Gloves that Won Le Mans" :o

Yes, but you could "Win the Gloves that Won Le Mans" :o
Yes, but the question is SOOOOOOO difficult ;)
They should ask a similar no-brainer such as:
What is the most important piece of kit to take to Le Mans
a) Filing Cabinet
b) Pot Plant
c) Corkscrew
Text a, b or c to a premium rate phone line now and you could win the chance to be drawn from the thousands of other ninnies suckered in to this cash generating racket.

Aaaaargh!!!
Tried both my local shops today and nobody has a copy of the aforementioned magazine.............all I can think is that the whole of the local population is headed south between Sunday and Friday next week and have commandeered all the copies!!!!

If it's just the guide you want you can have one of mine if you like. Got the Autosport one and normally a free copy of the guide also comes with Autocar (out next Tuesday) so I will have a spare.
See you at the Rudmore Cellars Wednesday PM.
