Call me an old cynic....... but why?

I'm booked in and ready to go ..
-
/me shall most definitely be in attendance
;D
-
Anyone in the IT Industry want to show an interest in my services so that I can arrange an appointment with them in Central London that happens to co-incide - please?
-
I should be there along with tink.
-
I may go it depends on whether they do passenger rides if there is another tube strike on... ;)
I'm sure there were some 2 seater F1 cars a few years ago?? It would certainly be a good thing!!
-
I'm going to try and be there, depends on what time I finish work. Us surgeons can't just "book" a ficticious appointment in London that just so happens to be on the same day! ;) ;D
Although perhaps I can get something arranged so that I'll be in Harley Street? mmmm
-
Steve, I'm with you. Promote the British GP? Funny thing about that, time was when F1 didn't need promoting, the racing itself did that.

With sausages for fingers there is no way you could be a surgeon ;)

Evidentely neither can us "Sales people"
Someone must want a new PC or something - surely?
-
Brad, perhaps you should join Abs and I for a meeting?? I think we can call it "Networking!!!" ;)
Tell them you have a meeting with Nomadtrack and Infocite.
-
Infoshite?
Yeah - that one wouldnt get spotted ::)
I actually have to HAVE a meeting - someone else would have to come with me so that I didnt screw things us - im still a newbie here - so i need a genuine business reason. It just needs to co-incide with Tuesdays F1 demo!!!
-
Actually Mark - we were going to have a chat about that - how about you send me an email - let me know what you might need, and I'll see if i can arrange something.......
-
Infosh**te?
Yeah - that one wouldnt get spotted ::)
Trouble is Brad Infocite is Mark's company!!!!
-
i was just going back to that message - and i think i may have mis read it - actually - i know i mis read it - no offence meant mark :-\

Didn't Jordan make a two seater, maybe Mansell could seat his ego in the second seat.
I'm sure Jordan will be only to happy to equip the f1 with some panniers rather than have Mansell's saddle bags dragging along Regents Street ;D

I'll be the Old Coffee House in Beak Street with Trayboy and Elvis which is much closer to the heart of the action and wont be full of tourists.
If anyone wants to join in they are more than welcome.
It's on the junction of Marshall street for those who need to know.
Rusty
See you there after the Veraswamy then Mark ? :D
-
Just to bump this post back to page 1.
It is tonight!!
There will be a collection of CA's aswell as a small group of LM'er's from my group. I will be at the Argyl Arms by 5pm.
-
Right lads (and lasses of course), I have to ask. What was it like?
-
As exciting as you would expect anything to be from F1.
UTTER PANTS!!!!!!!
Rusty
-
What you actually saw some!!!!
We arrived a 5'oclock with the police turning us away. I went upstairs in the Argyll Arms and leant out the window only to be told not to do so or the POLICE will close the pub.
Saw one car with the help of a video camera at full arms reach out a second storey window.
Echoing point.

Another argyll arms visit comes off with a phone number!!! ;D ;D

Got there about 4.30 - just in time I reckon, we were on Regent st facing Dickens and Jones so got a good view of them coming up Regent St including a good view of Mansell stalling.
-
Mansell? Stalled an F1 car? on Regents Street? In front of thousands of people?
That's possibly the best news i've heard all week! ;D ;D ;D

And for months and months the commentators have been telling us how much easier to drive F1 cars are these days....
Fantastic :)

Is that the new Williams?

It might as well be. The brushes certainly would have helped big gay Ralf at Indy.

Rick,
You seem to have her in a headlock and about to deliver the forearm slam. Is this your usual way of extracting a phone number?
-
....and where is your other hand???
-
I was severely pissed
and yes the other hand was on her @RSE.

Are you sure it wasn't on her South African boyfriend's @rse??? :o
So far you phone numbers from girls from America, Iceland and Australia. Isn't it about time you tried someone who won't be a few thousand miles away from you by next month?? ;D
-
Hate living here in ENGLAND. Chairs get blown over in violent storms it rains in July I quite fancy leaving here you know.

Maybe you should try moving to France. I know a nice field in Le Mans that you should try out. Two weeks tomorrow would be a good time to try it!! :)

Sure they are *really* from that far away ;)

What a waste of time. Stood up for 3 hours without a beer and rubbing shoulders with the great unwashed and every pickpocket in southern England. And for what, to see Westminster City Council's formation roadsweeping team, and the backs of peoples heads, and I was near the front. If it wasn't for the screens on other people's videos, we wouldn't had a clue what was going on.
Now when the French organise something on the public roads it seems to work
-
apparently i went to that.
didn't see any f1 cars and can hardly remember anything that happened - i do recall drinking a lot of beer though
-
Yeah tink, I remember being at the Argyll Arms on tuesday night wondering what the noise was and why the police threatend to arrest me if I leaned out the window with my video camera again.
f**k!ng Rozzers.
-
f**ck!ng Rozzers.
Oy son,
Wind youre neck in before someone does it for you!
-
I guess I should have relaxed that fact as I never got that speeding tickets I was expecting. However I was threatened arrest after doing the most criminal of things "leaning out a window"! When I first got my car I was stopped twice a week to check insurance details. Then when in Oxford one day I was mistaken for a football hooligan despite the fact I was no where near the statdium and not sporting anything like a football shirt. They didn't arrest me on this accasion but the threat seemed very apparent.
I was just annoyed that the police get too heavy handed and not go after the real criminals in the UK.
Sorry Robbo if you took it personally.

Robbo,
I've heard of the long arm of the law and all that but how you gonna reach from Pompey ;)

Rick you are, in my opinion, a real criminal. Your behaviour is contrary to a little known piece of legislation, the Leaning out of the Window Act (as amended) of 1816. Just as well you obeyed the instructions of the copper, otherwise you could have been taken to the local magistrates court, tried, convicted and then birched on Tower Hill. Mind you, you might have enjoyed that bit.

I've always thought that you've got THAT look about you ;)

i was almost caught leaning out of a window last week but the copper didn't see me. luckily i got away with it, but damn that leaning out of windows Act 1816
