The UK terrestrial TV Channel Four has been following Allan’s sportscar team, Audi Sport UK Team Veloqx, over the last few months. The documentary, a series of five episodes, will be aired on Channel Four over the next five weeks.
Channel Four’s TV crew has followed Allan and the team through the ups and downs of a hectic and demanding season, starting in Sebring, Florida and concluding with the dramatic, fiery but ultimately successful finale at Spa Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes.
The series will start this Sunday 26th September at 8am and will be broadcast at 8am for the first two episodes and 8.30am for the remaining three. There will also be a repeat screening on the Friday following each programme.
Look out for action, insight and interviews from Allan and his Audi team mates
-
Good spot Chris - I've set a new Season Pass on the TiVo to capture them all...
That'll be the film crew that was lurking when CA members were chatting with Herby and Nishy. Must keep my eye out for CA t shirts...
-
As far as I can remember they were looking but not filming when we dragged Herbert from his well earned lunch at PQ.
-
They were doing some filming, they did an interview with the drivers on the Sunday too while we were
stalking hanging around!!
-
Thanks for the notification. That time in the morning on a Sunday is not normally on my radar so far as TV viewing is concerned.
Just a note - the Channel 4 TV website lists the first program as going out at 07:55am, not 08:00 as stated above. So for those without clever recording equipment - set the program around 5 minutes extra either way (or get the kids to do it), just in case.
-
Bolox, just read this again and saw it said 8am. Am I the only stupid sod that ended up recording Rory Bremner at 8pm? If anyone knows what tme the repeat is on can you post it here in 6 inch letters so that it registers in my obviesly alcohol addled brain
-
Not sure without looking it up, but its worth catching. Its very well made and has John Desborough doing the commentary.
-
3.50am MONDAY so it was repeated this morning i'm afraid
:'(
-
So, were we on show ?
-
So whats with the early morning times. The're not exactly trying to sell the program are they
-
And it clashed with the Chinese GP, now thats what I call sensible programming >:(
-
It's frankly ridiculous! All the best motorsport progs on terrestrial tv seem to be on at silly times. From what I hear about it, it focused on Sebring, so I assume you've more chance of being on the one about Le Mans (maybe this Sunday?).

Agreed about the early transmission time, although I took the precaution of recording it and watching it later. Like the rest of us I'm not too keen on rising from my pit too early after a good night.
Having watched my recording I can confirm that the next edition is about Le Mans. The C4 website says transmission time is 08:00 Sunday, so set your recording gear then watch later and keep your eyes peeled for C.A. T shirts.....

Who were the guys who did Christmas in yesterdays program ? We were gonna do that next year, can't do it now it's been done. That means we will have to have another drunken planning meeting to come up with another idea. Oh God it just gets worse and worse.
-
What about doing Diwali, Yon Kipur or even "Happy Honika", dressed up in the robes, false beards (Life Of Brian style).
What time did the prog go out ?
I set by HD to record it and only seemed to get half the show. Has it already been repeated ?
-
They are chopping and changing the repeat time, according to my TV guide this week it's at 0330 hours Wednesday 13th
-
Cheers Barry, will reset the HD.

Nobby,
The prog. went out at 8:25am. That's the time listed in the TV guide for next Sunday's broadcast too. No idea why C4 keep varying the broadcast time - it wouldn't happen if it were a soap would it?
I'm not aware that it's been repeated but no doubt it will be one day.
FYI I am recording all the programmes with a view to putting them all on to a DVD.
-
Robes and beards are not such a good idea Nobby, it would only take a passing US airforce F16 and Houx Annexe would end up looking like downtown Basra
-
It always looks like that around our tents anyway !
-
That's what I just thought too. It always looks like hell on earth on sunday evening.

That was after we burnt all those old plastic chairs ;D
-
This week's episode was particularly good, just how did McNish manage to get that car back and as they asid an awsome job done to rebuild it! The guys having the full Christmas dinner were just up from us on Karting North - most bizzar - walking out of the site on Friady night and hearing Christmas carols, looking into their encampment and seeing christmas decorations and a Xmas tree complete with fairy and Father Christmas wondering around!!! I guess its no suppirise that they did not show the Perveted Elf with his 9" strap on D*ldo :o :o
Only at Le Mans!
Hope they bring all the episodes togther as a video?

I'm making a DVD of all the programmes consecutively.
Hopefully after cutting out the adverts etc. and compressing it a bit it should all go on to one disc.
Of course I couldn't possibly make any copies and send them out due to copyright law, but I don't know the position if it were to be circulated and you inadvertantly copied it yourself ;)
-
I won't tell, if you don't.
Will you let us know when it's done, my good man ?
-
Isnt it the WANCS / powermite and Co who do the full christmas dinner thing ?
-
I won't tell, if you don't.
Sssh
Want some brown paper bags??

Dont know, this crew were obvously vey well healed, Huge motorhome parked adjacent to the track, Bentley Arnarge and Lotus 340R, A8's ect

Brown paper bags???? Now we're veering off into Big H territory........
I'll post here after all the broadcasts have finished and I've had the time to compile the edited highlights onto DVD.
-
Got to see this weeks programme last night.
The bit that made me laugh was the pit stop, with the mechanic leaning into the cockpit trying to perform some critical task. To ensure a swift exit, there was another mechanic holding him by the legs/waistband, who would withdraw his collegue a some speed when the job was finished.
Cue - mechanic travelling backwards out of the cockpit.
You can just imagine the other guys chat up lines....
"Yeah, I work for Audi Veloqx you know. I pull people by the legs, backwards out of cars."
-
Hi Robbo,
The WANC's did indeed do a Christmas dinner theme for a few years: complete with Christmas Carols
Christmas tree with decorations and lights. to say nothing of the singing moose. However this year AJ the Chef decided we would have a proper Roast Beef dinner. Hand carried German beers by GAB stated us off and various wines and Champagnes continued. Lovely it was.

Right, the DVD is complete. All 5 episodes on one DVD-R, (adverts and other non-essential footage removed to reduce required disk space). I am not a professional editor but the results don't look too bad to me.
As stated before I wouldn't want to make a load of copies for fear of some sort of legal infringement, but I'd be happy to pass a copy on - for person viewing purposes only. Maybe then it could be circulated.
Perhaps a list of those interested then we could organise it better?
-
Pretzel - would love to see the results of your labours. How about a list, then whoever is in possesion of the CD must PM the next person on the list, get their postal address and post it off. Otherwise, you'll be forevere at the post office and nicking jiffy bags from work!
-
Yes please, add me to your list.

I propose a list, then I will send it to the first one on the list, and post here to say I have done so. The recipient can then do what they want with the DVD i.e. just watch it, or copy it, then they can post here to say they have passed it on to the next person , etc, etc.
That way we will always know who in the chain has it, and who will be next.
Smokie - would this be ok? Or would it be better if there was a separate thread for this?
-
Seems OK to me...
If I could be a*sed to do anything about it, I have the whole series on the TiVo (which is on the LAN) and could (probably) make files small enough to be downloaded over broadband and watched on computer - or burnt to CD. It's not something I've dabbled with yet. Maybe I'll have a fiddle tomorrow...
It's a great series and well worth watching...Feelgood factor in there somewhere.
-
Please add me to the list Pretzel, I have a some spare time, if you would like me to compile the list and get the ball rolling I'm quiet happy to.

I was going to add myself to the end of the list, but after a brief web search found the production company website.
A DVD is available of the show for £18.00.
This price includes a second DVD about the 'Sinking of HMS Scylla'. The blurb says there are limited stocks available and gives an orderline number. I feel a xmas present coming on

:-\ OOps - Error correction!
£18.00 is for a special offer.
The Audi Veloqx DVD is only £7.95 by itself

Thank you Robbo, look forward to seeing it, will PM Skorpio for his address details to pass on.

Cpuld you add me to the list please.
I have all episodes on my TiVo but my DVD writer seems to not want to write a DVD at the moment so if I borrow yours I can get my neighbour to copy it :)
Of course, if IRW sees this in time he could probably drop it by and I can queue jump (and save him postage)

I think this is right.... I got the DVD Thursday, and it is a good watch! Thanks for passing it on. It is ready for the next hop. I have messaged chris24 on Friday, but no reply yet....
-
Sent on today!
-
OK, DVD arrived today, thank you. I will be copying it this evening ready to send on to Critchetti. So please could Critchetti PM me your address . Thanks.
I will however probably have to wait about a week until pay day before sending it on, as i currently have about £8 to last me until the 15th !
-
/me gets all excited about being next on't list
-
Gone down rather well with a bottle of red. Excellent stuff.
Bird - pm me your address and i'll send on.
-
I have just opened my dvd box to check that the DVD is in, ready to play at LM, and it isn't.
I don't want to start an avalanche of requests, but could some kind soul volunteer to do me a copy - preferably someone who is coming down early-ish in the week?
Once someone has answered affirmative then everyone else can ignore this plea - I won't be here after tomorrow am to reply, and I only need one copy! :)
TIA
-
Smokie,
Didn't see this post until probably a bit too late. If you are able to access this from your pitch on MB then note that I will bring a copy along as I have a spare from when I did the original recording.
We are not arriving until Thursday, and our first visit to the track will be for the Thursday evening qualifying. If you are able to read this at some time before then please advise if you want to meet somewhere so I can hand it over. Alternatively I will come and find your encampment.
