Note the French title - that is because the UK is to be honoured next week by a rare visit from Gilles, our Man About Town in Le Mans. Gilles is over here for a few days, on business I think, and will be staying around the south end of the country.
So....
Ferrari Spider is going to find a hostelry somewhere in the Alton/Winchester/Basingstoke/Goodwood general area which can serve us with some liquid and solid sustenance, this Tuesday evening. Probably 7:30 - 8 ish, details to follow from FS on this thread tomorrow.
I am up for it, JPC will be (if he can find a chaffeur - he has w*nkers wrist or something and can't drive), but ALL CAers would be welcome to come along. I know there are quite a few south of Watford so it would be great to see a few faces, plan some stuff and have a generally good time.
If you are new to CA and haven't yet met anyone, don't let that put you off. I might wear my 2005 CA t shirt (already resplendent with Alan McNish's paw print) and my Aston baseball cap (with some driver signatures) so you can find us, but even if I don't, you will soon recognise Gilles by the beret, stripey t shirt and string of onions round his neck...
Apologies for the short notice, I hope to see lots of you there.
Please add a post here if you might be there, just so FS has an idea of numbers...

Mr Spider - where are we meeting then???
Hello Andy, ltns. Looking forward to meeting you tomorrer.
-
Apologies in advance for my non-appearance. I will be oop north in Manchester and will be on my best behaviour!
I'm sure you'll all have a falling-over water on my behalf 8)
-
Smokie, apologies for not putting on the net sooner, my chum JP with the w***ers wrist was supposed to put the contact details on the web page? will follow up early tomorrow
-
OK. Ferrari Spider is "at a function" this evening so it falls upon me to pass on the meeting location.
Assuming everyone is happy with the location, we will be meeting at "The Fox" in "North Waltham".
Approx 4/5 minutes from Jct 7 of the M3. A nice country pub, in the middle of nowhere with views across fields (depending on when we get there) with excellent food, fine real ales and a good wine list.
Ferrari Spider will collect Gilles and bring him along. As I have w**k*rs wrist of the achilles tendon (smokie???) I will either be collected by Fat Lad and driven there, or get a taxi, or a friendly moderator may like to collect me (and Fat Lad) and drop us back as he'll literally have to go past the door ;D
Definates so far are Gilles (of course) Ferrari Spider, Smokie, JP Chenet and Fat Lad. Probables are Robbo and Andy. Zarse is a possibility.
Any more for any more???
-
Mark, well done!!!!!!!!!

Easiest directions for everyone. M3 Junction 7. Take the A30 towards Basingstoke.
Take the 1st left by the traffic lights. Follow this road for about 3/4 of a mile and you will see The Wheatsheaf Hotel on the right. Immediately after the Wheatsheaf is a right hand turning. Take it.
After half a mile, the road bears to the right and aturning is on the left with a triangular fashioned junction. Turn left here.
The pub is then just alongon the right and the entrance to the car park is just after the pub and leads to a large parking area around the back.
Rick Cutler has now confirmed he will also be attending!

Jesus Barry, what happened?? Were you run over by the Piste-basher?
The one thing that always spoils the build up to my annual skiing holiday is the thought of coming back in several broken pieces. I've always gotten away with it (so far) and I couldn't give a monkeys when I'm out there on the edge. It's just the contemplation beforehand that gives me the heebeegeebees.
Anyway, get well soon mate, hope this has not jeopardised your trip to LM. Actually we are taking a little crippled boy aged 40 this year, so if you need to borrow his wheelchair, do let me know!

Sorry i didnt make it.
I have been working some horendous hours recently, and am knackered.
All work and no play means i am not getting laid.
-
Andy and Phil, thankyou for your get well wishes, nothing broken, just lower leg and foot damage. Torn calf muscles are very painful :o :o
Should be able to throw away the crutchs and have that ' it's a miracle, I can walk again' moment in about 7 days. ;) :)
Hopefully it will all be better by June, although I've had to temporarily cancel the Ducati going in to be stage 1'd, should be done before the pilmgrimage though ;D

-
Haven't heard from him, but then we weren't planning on meeting up again.
There was a chance that IRW might try to meet up with him to show him around Brooklands. Maybe he's heard from him??
-
No, no news from our little friend - think you've broken him! ::)
-
Oh dear! there's not a lot of him.
-
Be Quiet
I come back safe in my country....
... and unfortunately couldn't find the time to visit Brooklands. Trip has to be better planned next time.
I gonna try to have the requested info about th campsite open during PQ...
... and I try to free some space to store all your camping gear.

The ACO told me it would be one near the Porsche Curves but not MB. BSJ, surely.
-
??????Do I get a drift that there may be a chance of leaving the camping gear there for the 24 after the PQ????? It would certainly open up the possibilities of getting over to it.

Not sure I'd risk leaving anything unattended for a week or so. Check your PMs.
