Title: Le Mans 2005 Supporting Race? Post by: Ferrari Spider on April 07, 2005, 06:12:36 pm Have had a look through the ACO website and nothing is listed at the moment for the supporting race? Any ideas what it might be this year.
Last year we had the Motor Racing Legends Group C. Title: Re:Le Mans 2005 Supporting Race? Post by: Paddy_NL on April 07, 2005, 06:17:08 pm not trying to be a Moderator, but have a look at this topic>>

From http://www.motorracinglegends.com/ Eligible Years for Le Mans Legend 2005 We are delighted to announce the eligible years for the Le Mans Legend 2005. On Saturday 18th June 2005, a few hours before the start of the Le Mans 24 Hours, Le Mans cars of 1935 to 1955 will run in a one-hour, two-driver race on the full 8.5-mile circuit. This means that, for the first time, pre-War cars will be able to participate in this most prestigious event, pitting the very best of the 1930s against the technological advances of the early ’50s: Bugatti against Talbot Lago; Alfa Romeo against Jaguar; Riley against Aston Martin; Delahaye against Ferrari, Frazer Nash or Panhard. This era gives an incredibly rich and diverse list of cars from which to select a truly exotic grid. For many marques the chosen years span a range of models illustrating history in the making: Aston Martin fielded DB1, then DB2, DB3 and DB3S; meanwhile for Jaguar, the 1935 to 1955 period covered the XK120, through C-type to D-type. Practice will take place on the Thursday, with all cars being driven into the centre of Le Mans for scrutineering in the shadow of the ancient cathedral – exactly as it would have been 50 years ago. The Le Mans Legend race is televised live to over 60 countries and constitutes one of the most important events in the historic calendar. Entries will shortly be invited; if you would like to be considered for an invitation to this remarkable event, please let us know by sending us the details of your car and drivers, stating any relevant history – ‘Le Mans’ or otherwise. Title: Re:Le Mans 2005 Supporting Race? Post by: jpchenet on April 08, 2005, 12:03:23 am right angled elbows are very useful in plumbing. Why not left angled ones??? Title: Re:Le Mans 2005 Supporting Race? Post by: Ferrari Spider on April 08, 2005, 01:28:34 am you see, now for that you would need what we call in the trade a lever ball valve?
Title: Re:Le Mans 2005 Supporting Race? Post by: Paddy_NL on April 08, 2005, 10:16:11 am What a shame they don't run cars from the late sixties, one of my banners would have suited well for that era.

Post by: Paddy_NL on April 08, 2005, 11:26:55 am Is your job something to do with making large posters Paddy? Yes Nordic, I have a lettering company. Makes life a lot easier trying to lift supporting into a higher dimension. The package should eventually look nicer than the average hospitality unit. 8)JP, 'fraid I'm NOT a very big star in PhotoSouping. Also had the idea to add our logo in there somewhere, but gave up eventually. Just didn't look right. Title: Re:Le Mans 2005 Supporting Race? Awesome, just awesome!! Title: Re:Le Mans 2005 Supporting Race? Post by: Paddy_NL on April 11, 2005, 10:32:58 pm I'm gonna try to hang the large flag up the advertising boards on top of Eau Rouge coming Sunday, just before the start of the race.
This from another topic here (MBarea?)>> Quote Nah, it's never supposed to be a flag, but more like a roof. It's gonna hang between the scaffolding, the Gazebos and the truck which brings all the stuff. So it's gonna be horizontal, more for cameras from heli-coppers to catch a glimps of. Please forget about the car driving the track, it was just to give an idea :-\(http://server2.uploadit.org/files/PaddyLM-dfhmblm2.jpg) We've planned to put up camp west of the Golden Triangle now, just behind the the Marshalls-post. The Steve McQueen, as well as the large Racing for Holland-banner and the Bruce McLaren-1968-start will be just for decoration. And God knows what I might bump into over the next two months... Let's hope for teriffic weather, as well as a great race in June! Title: Re:Le Mans 2005 Supporting Race?
