THE ASTON WILL HAVE IT'S UK DEBUT HERE.
I telephoned the circuit campsite today with regard to camping over during the World GT Championships on the 14/15th of May.
They have camping pitches avaliable. I have a booking form on the way and will book for anyone who wants to come. A deposit is required but am not sure how much it is yet. (or if we get a block booking discount)
Campsite even has a bar!!! ;D ;D ;D
Think we can get a few CA'ers out this weekend. Let me know via PM if you want me to book.
-
Rick, is this infield camping, or is it at the golf club/country club nexdt door that has an access gate to the circuit??
Hoping to do the weekend, but worse case scenario I will be there for the Sunday!!
-
Some of the SPS crew will be there for the sunday only. Occasionally i have to work.
-
I believe it is the country club as they have a bar!! ;D
-
yeap for the weekend
a little pi ssed at the fact that its £10 per person per day to get into the paddock including kids who are free to get into the circuit !!!!!!!!!!!!
one weekend has just set me back £50.00
£25 weekend ticket
£20 paddock pass (saturday only)
£5 advanced prog (cheaper than on day)
ohh £1.50 rec delivery on tickets
>:(
-
If it is the Whittlebury Park, the bar is a fair old walk away from where they actually allow you to pitch up. A few years ago we went to the historic festival up there and the sales pitch was better than what was delivered.
But hey, if there is a CA meet and beers will be flowing I should drag my arse up there, even better as it looks like I have hospitallity sorted during the race!! ;D ;D
-
Tempted :P :P
-
At the risk of tempting Fate again, yes, I hope to going, and taking the boy. I know it won't have anything like the atmosphere of LM, but it's the best we can do this year, and if he doesn't like it enough he can stay at home next June and look after his mum ......
-
We will be there, but will not be camping on the basis we're only 45 mins away.
-
were only 40 minutes away but it means you can drink all day and party all night ;D
-
Hmmm, maybe I can send MrsUK home then? ;D :o
-
I be there looks a good days racing with the WTCC as well :)
-
Sadly not for me, i have to watch the finances at the moment as Sebring is taking its toll on me. So i will be watching it on Eurosport unless I win a ticket from Planet Rock. :(
-
OK. I'm definateoly going for the Sunday, but if there is going to be a reasonable CA contingent going for Saturady and Sunday I will probably take the tent and stay the Saturday as well.
Any final decisions from anyone else to help me make up my mind??
-
Sorry I won't be able to share a tent with you this time JP.
Myself, my better half and the new Trans Am will be visiting Dick's house for some pre-LM planning and Leffe tasting.
...and some ogling of Vintage Military Vehicle magazines :-\

There is a timetable on the BRDC website,
Here's a direct link to it, http://www.brdc.co.uk/cbb_files/WTC%20Silverstone%20Detailed%20Timetable%20Version%203.doc (http://www.brdc.co.uk/cbb_files/WTC%20Silverstone%20Detailed%20Timetable%20Version%203.doc)

So who is actually planning on going this weekend and who plans to camp? The though of seeing the Astons is getting my juices going (did I mention that I DIDNT go to SEBRING).
Also where shall we meet on Sunday and at what time?

I would suggest at the start off the lunch break in the paddock. Think there is a permenant loo block by two eateries that would be a good spot!
a few of us will call each other on arrival.
-
Hopefully my new phone will have arrived by then...
But me and Rich will be there from about 9am for the first warm-up
-
I'll be there, lurking round the pit lane for the two days ;D
-
Rob, phone me when you get there so we can meet up.
-
I hope to be there Sat PM, and for most of Sun.
Rick: the place you are thinking of is the Padock Dinner, out the front there is a small green area, would anybody like to sugest a time.................
BTW bring your woolies, its a bit cold and chilly over here today - Sillystone is always colder than Buckingham - and its bloody cold here at the moment! :P
-
CA t-shirts everyone?? Just to help identify each other.

Just seen the weather forcast. A good move ordering XL, I can wear it over multi layers of fleece and waterproofs.
Bloody Silverstone has got it's own climate.

JBloody Silverstone has got it's own climate.
Silverstone seems to attract winds blowing straight down from Siberia, northerly winds forecast, you have been warned.
-
Rob, phone me when you get there so we can meet up.
Paul.
My phone's still knackered and the new one will arrive when i'm sleeping after nights on saturday....
Me and rich will be there from about 9.30 so if you have my number, give me a buzz. The temp phone has bad buttons and cant do 1, 4 or 9 !!
-
The weather clearly doesn't favour race tracks. Sebring was pretty wet for a day and Spa was covered in fog.
Did I mention I went to both? :)

I think you may have mentioned that you went to SEBRING and SPA a few times, did you feel the pins being inserted in the most sensitive part of your body?
Did I mention I didnt go to either
I have my thermal underware and imager ready, and plan to be there on Sunday, not sure about Brad he's working on a passout.
Phill can you PM me your mobile number.
-
Pass approved by the missus - bank manager sh**ing himself, but i'll be there.......
-
Didn't need a pass out for Silverstone, Mrs. Russ got me a ticket, free, and one for her, and one for a mate, with paddock pass's and a little light hospitality.
Thank you very much Mr. Car Manufacturer that she works for... ;D
