Back from Rome, and I just had to drop a line on here to let everyone know what a fantastic city it is.
If anyones looking for a weekend away (better make it a long weekend) then I would highly recommend it!! Spectacular buildings, monuments, ruins and statues everywhere you look!

We've been a couple of times and agree the place is fascinating. We spent hours in the Forum / Coliseum alone.
...but NEVER drive in Rome!

Steve, you're always on the forum!
But JPC's right, Rome is a great place. I'm surpprised he didn't mention the food though. I have never had a bad meal in Rome. It pisses all over French food if you ask me. (spoken like a true epicurian!)

True, however, I am let out on some occasions for good behaviour.
I took the black beasty out for a 300 mile pre-LM shake down run over the weekend and came home with smiles (and dead flies) on my face.
(Yes, I know this has got nothing to do with Rome!!)

... oh, and we went and bought this as my wife's new 'runabout'
(Still has nothing to do with Rome)

That's all very well, but what about the Vino you were supposed to be looking for? ;)

To true. What an excellent place. Try standing in the middle off the Collessium with out thinking, 'My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius etc etc.
The Sistine Chapel also hosts (ahem) probably 2 of the most impressive acts of individual creativity in the history of the visual arts.
And as Andy says. Top Nosh.
