It all starts this weekend for Team Nobby Diesel.
"Planning meeting" in Marlow this Friday. Planning meetings start at 7.30 pm and usually finish when the bar closes at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Marlow; about 2.30 am.
Saturday morning, wake bright and early, to watch the first Lions game vs. Bay of Plenty; programme starts 7.30am, ko 8.10.
Saturday night; do the decent thing, go out for dinner with the Mrs and an old school mate and ex Lion, to talk b@llox about rugby.
Leave the restaurant in time to get to me mates house to watch the fight of the decade; Ricky Hatton vs. Kostya Tszyu....COME ON THE HITMAN!!!
Fight scheduled for 2.00 am.

The LADS (Lancashire & District Sevens) have had the planning meet but have the final get together tonight in order to hand over the bigger bits of kit.
Have to be careful about getting to excited at my age, it can lead to an awful mess. ;)

Now I'm getting seriously excited!!! Keithk leaves for pre-qual this morning and gets to spend just over two weeks out there (no...I'm not jealous ::))
I have a large heap of camping gear ready to pack and we leave next Friday to collect the last of the group before getting a Saturday ferry. I've had instructions on how to put the roofrack on Sven the Saab and have the shoehorns ready to jam the last of the bodies and kit into the car and the roof box.
Bring it on - I can't wait!!! ;D ;D ;D

I've just finished work, off this week, got Friday and Saturday at work then we're off on Sunday morning. Must'nt forget the tickets and passport. Anything else can be forgotten.

just took delivery of the 45' motor home, god it's impressive, slide outs and even a garage under the raised bed room, wireless tv, ac, and every other exrta that you could wish for.
Now i am excited. ;D

Quiet afternoon... rubbing down and filling holes and cracks in F/G bonnet so it will look respectable next week. Service , oil and filter with plug change Wedneday. Must not hurry. Too quick, too easy to forget summat.

OK, Gazza, Rob and I part loaded one of the vans tonight. Don't know why but part way through it really seemed to hit home that this is it now!! I thought I was excited before, now I just can't stop smiling and I'm climbing the walls.
At one point, we jested about just driving off there and then! ;D All three of us were up for it!!! :)(not sure whether the missus might have noticed though! :()

Been to Boots to get the important bits and pieces, Resolve, wet ones etc etc
Sorted the tool kit, checked the A frame bushes, done the spanner check. oil changes etc, softened off the dampers and had a trial run with the daughters ideal space requirement. so far so good. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've counted 34 so far today, various banter threads and reminders to pack certain items.
The main topic seems to be the best route, to avoid Les Scuffeurs.

I think i must have remembered everything except the damn mickey mouse money.
I'll be winging my way to a postoffice asap.
Ooops, i need some euro breakdown assist. Any suggestions for a cheapy. I'm with autonational rescue in the UK but i don't think they extend your cover to europe, i'll phone and see.
I just phoned them and they do a separate euro cover for 18 pounds for the week?
Bargain if i need a tow back to the UK.

re breakdown cover I found direct line were virtually half the price of anyone else, i suspect you get what you pay for, but the cover looked ok. Travel insurance is cheap at www.travelinsuranceweb.com if youre under 50.
am meeting my co-driver tonight for final meeting, very excited (about LM, not meeting my mate), little FM radios arrived today from Maplin (only ordered yesterday). Just need a trip to boots for rennie/painkillers etc and then get my euros and i'm done. I'm currently excited like a 5 y/o at christmas, and CA is only serving to wind me up more - Good work!

I'm just soooooooo excited I don't have words to articulate it ;D Slight panic last night when I couldn't get into the garage where all the camping gear is stored. Had to use a little (and I only have a little!) brute force to get in. Fingers very crossed that it doesn't do the same thing on Friday when we need to pack!!!

Can't wait to get there ...

3 1/2 more working days to go. Got a weekend up in Scotland watching stock cars to get out the way though first ( Cowdenbeath and Knockhill) then its finish work Wednesday lunch time, pack the car and off to Manchester to see Motley Crue ! then its straight from the gig to Hull and then on down to Dover.

Picked up my disposable fridge (and very nice it is to), bought a bottle of gas (13KG for £14.50 no deposit). Took seats out of bus. Built water heater. Work tomorrow and Saturday then pack up and off on Sunday morning.

My 2kW camping generator has just arrived and I've nearly broken my hand trying to start it only to find it needs oil first ::)
Doesn't matter, cos now I'm excited. Ninja Penguin Racing t-shirts and flag came back from the printers this morning (look a bit sh*t but that's because I designed them)
