Hi everybody...
Do any of you have any good pictures from this year? For various complicated reasons I didn't take the digi camera )and was probably too drunk to use it anyway ::) ) and I would like a nice pic to go on my desktop...
Thanks!!!
How many days left till next year..?

Great stuff? Did you have credentials as a photographer? Or how - and from where - did you manage to take pictures without the safety fence before your lense?
-
Bob - May I personally recommend the Canon EOS 300d or 350D - great cameras when combined with a 100-300MM lens (470mm when you take into account the digital cropping factor) the camera is entirely to blame for some great shots of this years race.....
Next year, I would like a press pass though - even if its just for a couple of hours during practice.....Anyone???
-
Next year, I would like a press pass though - even if its just for a couple of hours during practice.....Anyone???
I cannot vouch for this method, but somebody has told me they approached their local free newspaper, and offered to "cover" the race for them and supply pictures. He then claimed they got him a press pass :o
As I say, I cannot vouch for the authenticity, and it seems a bit far fetched, but it may be worth a try for the sake of a letter or phone call.

No credentials other than an A-Level in Photography now some 5 years out of date, before Digital was an affordable method.
The single post pics were taken from aloft a scaffolding set on the exit to the porsche curves - the multiple pics from mulsanne corner.
I had REAL trouble this year - it seems that the circuit place safety fences everywhere that you MIGHT be able to get a shot.......some of them are totally uneccesary and sometimes the only option is a bit of climbing and contortionism..... im not the most flexble person however so i did struggle a little!
It can be done however and I am quite happy with some of my shots....just wish I could get my press pass!!
-
What like the pass I had Brad!!!
Should have one next year too.
I will post pictures tomorrow!
-
I've got some great pictures, but none of the cars!! (Nudge, nudge - nod's as good as wink to a blind bat!).
Someone on CA is going to pay me large sums of money not to send the images to their home. You know who you are ;)
Wot a top weekend, best race in years I think. ..... All four classes undecided until the penultimate hour. Crackin stuff. Lost my memory card in the pitlane during the scrum but found it trampled (but working!!!) 10 minutes later!! Talk about a needle in a haystack!!!
-
Nice pics Brad, well done.
-
I have 1 or 2:- www.rdj-pics.co.uk, comment welcome.

I've got tons of pictures, we're processing them right now. They will be online by thursday evening, around 80 on our own website and I'll make a special fotopic website with a few 100 extra pictures of the race, pitwalk, qualifs, etc ...
Untill everything will be online, here are some teasers :

Hi guys! Erwin from Drinking for Holland here ;) Must say it was a blast going to Le Mans. Was fun to meet up with JPC, Self presevation, Club Arnage and many, many others! I was the guy running around with a 350D on the DfH site.
Enjoy the best event in the racing world!

I tried, and was chased by 2 marshalls and a geandame, through thistles, stinging nettles and thorns.....my legs are fecked, but i got close enough to hear the noise of the cars of full tilt :D
May i suggest to anyone who wants to get to the mulsanne that you dont attempt it in shorts?

I have to postphone your pictures to thursday because I'm on a slow line from home, Piglet. But to just say that again, the DfH guys got it right, absolutely perfect. Who was the photographer, Paddy ? Also the PS work is perfect, respect and very well done !!!

Daughter of Lanc Se7en may wish to remove the trailer from below this bike, and split its contents 50/50 - she can have the buell, I'll have the V-rod - The ONLY bike I've ever fallen in love with at first sight............
Surely she PREFERS sports which involve more than 1 Horsepower though? Lancs Se7en needs to do some educating of said daugher methinks......alternatively trade her in for the Harley ;D

Fantastic photographs Brad. I like the different angles of the shots. It adds an amount of "I want to see more" to each photograph. Brilliant.
As for Daughter of Lancs Se7en the young lady has her heart set on competing with the one horsepower and so far is doing better than I did in my days of racing gearbox karts. Have to say though that she was mighty impressed with all of the motors on display at this years event but her prize for the most unusual but not the most desirable was a toss up between the two seater settee and the green bus. ;D

but her prize for the most unusual but not the most desirable was a toss up between the two seater settee and the green bus. ;D
You didn't introduce her to Mark JPChenet then??
As for gearbox karting - im not sure i should talk to you - you are clearly insane.....I have a 100cc 2 stroke and that scares the living daylights out of me - im yet to dare to try a shifter - one day i'll understand the logic of 160mph an inch from the ground with no proper bodywork and wheels smaller than those that you get on a pram......but this may take some time.....
-
This form of driving is called "involved", care to try my JZR with 85 bhp Guzzi engine on the nose and input required at all times? Makes you realise what they had to put up with in the 1930s. :P

I did the g/box karting thing for three years and managed to scare myself s**tless on more than one occasion. It makes you realise what cold slicks are all about and how they dont grip when cold. Sold the beasie, F1 chassis and CR250 motor and bought the se7en. Same thing only bigger and with more protection.
Drive it with your arse is the best way to go. Some fantastic shots on here guys, and some of you ought to be doing it professionally judging by some of the imagination that has gone into making the shots a little different. My imagination is restricted to other things so I concentrate on subjects that are not moving to quickly, except the 1 horse power model who is named, wait for it,
PADDY but not Paddy nl
-
Not even named after him? tsk. :P

My photos are being edited as we speak and they will be online asap! Some nice shots so far! good to see people interpretattions of the event and where they went! :D
