Righty ho, who's going?, who's camping?
-
I will be camping from Friday night. Looking forward to it ;D
-
A couple of Team JPC will hopefully be there and hopefully camping. ;D
-
I'll be there. Have to talk to JPChenet again to see if we can arrange anything in anyway. He did have some plan to stay camping on Saturday as far as I understood. But hey, there might be some decent British weather that weekend, we'll all get flooded then ;D
-
I'll be there all weekend.
-
I might actually be able to wangle a saturday night's camping so I may make the trek up the A34.
-
Some of us will be there too.
-
Shall be there Friday & Saturday
-
I sould be there with a few from Bobblehat Racing
As I live quite close to Silverstone, and own a van, and is a Wine Merchant can I offer any of you some cold wine on Sat night?
Also I will be talking to the Silvertstone Racing Club to see if they are setting up a camp site for there members. As I am a member I will see if I can get a area allocated for CA. Would that be of intrest?
-
I reckon you'll get a resounding NON to both those questions Bobblehat.
Or maybe not ::) :)
-
Camping and cold wine would be most agreeable.
-
OK it looks like have a job to do then ;D
-
Would be very interested in a CA camping area Mr B, not so sure about the wine though ::)
-
I'm seriously considering putting that one on to my agenda. When is the race - on saturday or sunday and at what time ? I can't find anything on the Silverstone site.
-
Did somebody say wine?
Suddenly camping seems more agreeable than going home to my comfy bed. :)
-

I posted the link in the first post in this thread - by the white stick ;D
The 1000K is on Saturday.
-
Ah, got it now... and even read that the race will last into the dark. I expected some kind of time table, though.
-
There'll be a timetable on the www.brdc.co.uk (http://www.brdc.co.uk) website (in the events section normally) at some stage late july early august I expect, they have to get the GP out of the way first before the proper racing starts!
Anyone coming to the Britcar 24hr race?
-
August 13th sees me at Castle Coombe with about 50 other Audi ur quattros, otherwise i'd be there.
-
My husband has told me that we can go this year so I'm looking forward to it, might meet some more Arnage members...
-
Yep - count me in! Which camping place?
Fran
I thought JP was talking about the inner section (?)
-
Hi Fran
I rang Silverstone yesterday, and the camping is in the middle of the track, and is available for Fri & Sat night. I shall be there along with Mrs & Miss Whitey. It was nice to meet you last weekend, maybe meet up for a beer.
Cheers
whitey
-
Looks like i will be there on the Saturday at the very least. I may even be able to wangle the sunday. I shall have to check my diary.
-
Spoke to SRC today and should get an answer after the GP about the camping. And as prviously posted will be in the center but there are no facilities eek :-\
What I have asked for is an area to be set aside for CA. So could those that are wishing to camp please PM me so I have an idea of how many tents/campers/caravans, so if it is a yes, they have an idea of how much area to leave for us
BTW any one coming for the Silverstone Classic?
-
Bobblehat
Booked my camping passes yesterday on the web site we will have one tent and one caravan, with awning and gazeebo. BTW tent is bigger than the caravan
Cheers
Whitey
-
Myself and a few of the guys from Dark Warrior Promotions will be there...
I've never camped at Silverstone though... any info anyone can share on facilities, pubs etc ?
DW

They used the marshalls campsite last year, there is a bog block on it with washing facilities and at least one shower although the queue on Sunday morning was pretty long.
Never the less put me down for one car and camping for one tent Friday and Sunday night if you can swing a CA site. Booked yesterday.
-
Bob Friday & Sunday Night? No Saturday? or you still suffering from last weekend ;D
-
DOH, yeh still suffering, Friday a Saturday, well spotted
-
Would be pretty cool to have an own CA site! 8)
-
The WANCs will be there deffo on saturday, maybe sunday
PM
-
Will also be there on Saturday, hopefully with Wishy also in attendance.
-
Sorry to dissapoint you Pretzel..........I will be in France!!!!!!
-
Sorry to dissapoint you Pretzel..........I will be in France!!!!!!
Of course..... Well, I'll still be going :)
-
Does the Silverstone-LMES race carry a logo, just like the Spa-race?
Would be nice to add to my shirt ;D
-
The SPS crew of sorts will be there.
Me and ?? Maybe the lady if the suns out
-
some of the Kunatri will also be there.. Sat anyway... and being fair weather motor fans and need for g/f to have comfy bed and me to have a comfy g/f ;) , we wont be camping...
-
just read this on another forum>>
The LMES race looks like it's starting at 4pm on the Saturday and will finish in the dark.
anybody who can tell more about this?
-
That I am pretty sure is correct. I think it finishes at around 10-12pm.
-
That's nice Rick, let's hope for a smooth Summer Eve then! 8)
-
to those that are interested in the timetable>> http://www.brscc.co.uk/championships/entry%20packs/Provisional%20Timetable.pdf

I think the Pistonheads lot are organising a camp site, so we should do as well. I'll put my tent up at the border then.
Seriously, I spoke to JP Racing last weekend. They are from near where I live and are willing to carry my tent, sleeping bag and rucksack in their truck to Silverstone. That'll give me the opportunity to fly in... I'll have to book tomorrow.
Before anyone asks, Monza was great. I didn't drink too much and even did the ever wanted Timmelsjoch-Pass on the way back. That one goes at 2500 meters over the Alps. I had a hail storm on the top but still loved it much.
BTW, Henri Pesca (and there was just one French flag flying, but not from THE Pesca fan (what's his name again, Gilles ?)) won (Henri was furious about some drivers of his car), Jota went second (at last, well done Sam) and Rollcentre third in a row now. Sorry for all the ()s.
Don't know about the rest much because the ciruit radio was on Italian only. The LNT TVRs lost it sadly due to a fu** u**ed crankshaft on both cars but Seikel were on the podium. JPRacing finished 5th in GT2 (out of 14) after a good battle and 2 punctures, not to mention the ridiculous stop-go penalty because one of the pit crew members forgot the safety googles during a pit stop.
The RLM Lola won LMP2 as I remember. GT1 was just one haze with the Reiter Lambos in front but soon loosing ground (or better, their engines). I think it was Maranello time in GT2, at last.
I'll wake up soon...
-

Wasn't Bobblehat trying something in that direction, a CA site?
-
Still working on it Paddy, hope to have some sort of reply by Friday 15th
-
I spoke to Silverstone on Sunday. It looks as if there will be two campsites, one for those that wish to sleep and one for those that wish to PARTY!!
I am awaiting an email to confirm what I was told and were the sites will be.
It looks as I will be there Friday with the van and a CA flag flying and some tape
-
My prebooked tickets arrived today.
Any news on the camping front, Mr Hat.
-
yes mr. bobblehat, are the campingtickets available at the gate?
I'm too late now with tickets, arranged a GA, but no camping :(
off to the UK tomorrow, so no time left... :(
-
no prob via tickets for camping, but as it is it sat night and too many pints and glasses have pseed my lips, jezz i am suprised i ca type ........
let me just get back to you on monday
-
cheers BHR, please let me know via JPC as I'll meet up with him somewhere next week :)
-
Woops, completely missed this topic.
Unless something happens I'm going to be there and double the Drinking for Holland crew.
More details when available....
-
I am still waiting on info as to were the "party" campsite will be put. There will be, I understand, no special camping pass just the one you have to purchase if you are camping at the track. Once I have got more details I will let you all know.
But I am planning to get to Silverstone on Friday PM to set up an area for CA. So at the mo look out for a red and yellow van with "For the Love of Wine" and a CA flag flying.
in the meantime

I'll be there Friday afternoon also and am camping Friday and Saturday.
-
Same here ;D
-
Plan to be there on friday night too!
-
I will be there for Saturday - cars during the daytime and the party at night!!! ;D
-
Now we only need the entry list (and nice weather)
-
Mansell and Prost in a Cirtek Aston? :D
-
Does anyone know (or where to find) the entry list for the CER race?
Will be there on the Staurday only (not camping).
-
It's less than two weeks away. About time we had a round up of who's attending. I'll start the ball rolling:
Me
-
Me from Friday 1:30ish
-
Me!
First try of a provisional entrylist can be found here btw.. http://www.lmes.net/fr/silverstone/liste_engages.asp
-
Hope the Vipers turn up this year. ;D I was looking forward to seeing them again last year but it was a no show :(
-
I got an email today from Silverstone about camping, it looks as if we will not be able to have a CA area, sorry guys did try.
As you all know its a fiver each on friday and £ 10 each on Sat, under 16 go free. The area to be used is the inside of Maggots.
Those that havent booked them the no is: 08704 588284.
I should be there Friday late afternoon
-
Me, myself and I will be there on Friday afternoon / early evening.
-
I will be on holiday..
Bugger
-
Deliah and I should be there Friday evening. Do we HAVE to book? or can we just tip up?
-
Best to phone Silverstone n ask how many tickets they got left probably.
Just a reminder tho, the price is per person not per car/tent. ie. 2 people in a tent/car = 2 tickets - thats what they told me anyway ! :-[
-
I shall be there late Friday afternoon, M1 southbound on a Friday permitting ???
-
Me!

That must be an old entry list. JPRacing are not yet on there but I know they are booked. I've seen their confirmation yesterday.
-

Thanks for trying Bobblehat.
I will be there from 1:30ish on Friday and it sounds like I will be one of the first. I will try to hold on to as much space as I can until some of you others get there but with Silverstone employing a bunch of f**k*ng jobsworths they may stop me and it could turn into a seige Look for a Landy Disco with a CA sticker in the back window and a CA flag on a 9 metre pole.
-
Bob, you could try to get where we were last year. As you enter the campsite, head straight on to the trackside and there's quite a long raised earth bank where spectators stand. About halfway along the bank there's another (temporary?) fence which butts off the main track fence and kinda makes two sides to a square. Thus it's easier to defend and a fewer neighbours to upset.
Here's a pic from last year, not too good but might help locating it. The track runs parallel to the lefthand side of the commer and from sitting on the roof you could see right down to Stowe corner.
-
I know exactly where you mean Andy will go for that.
I am gonna knock up a curry for myself for Friday night and it will be just as easy to do it in bulk. Logisticly I can manage this for about 12 so if any of you fancy this let me know on here and you wil be sorted for food that night. I thought this may be of use to you 2 seater guys who can't bring along a lot of equipment. I will also be bringing along a fridge which you are all welcome to use

That sounds most agreeable Bob, cheers.
If I bring the cobra, I will have slightly more than f**k all in the boot.
If I bring the estate car, I'll bring the 12V / gas fridge full of beer.
-
Table booked at 8:00pm for Mr Brown.
-
Frankly Bob I'm not gonna get there til after ten on the friday night, so I'll eat before I leave. It's a very generous and much appreciated offer though.
And Steve, you must bring the Snake, you know you want to. Don't worry about bringing any camping gear, I can probably reserve a berth for you in the Commer. I think I have a spare single cabin available on the starboard side.
-
Dinner sounds good Bob and as I am coming up in my van I can bring my fridge, also I will put the gass BBQ in for use by all and I will get Keith to bring a genny.
Stev bring the Cob, you know it makes sense.
Now who prefers red wine who prefers white.....................
-
Is that 2 for dinner then Bobblehat?
-
Actualy it could be Keith, Liz, Micheal, and Tom and me, but I will find out what time they are ariving.
-
No probs with number I am aiming for 8:00 but that is flexable
-

Port out, Starboard home :D Many thanks. I'll bring the sleeping bag then.
-
Right, you're on! Hope you realise how priviledged you are. Hopefully we'll be able to cuddle up together naked again. Some of the others might want to join us too? I'll bring plenty of BabyOil.
-
(http://wwwth.mppmu.mpg.de/members/hahn/humour/BabyOil.jpg)

Unfortunatley. This year I will have to miss this great event. As I will be in France sunning myself,2.5 hours south west of Le Sarthe.

Bob,
Any room left around the table for that curry on Friday night? Just cleared time off from the 7th circle of hell that is my job so will be up Friday night now.
-
Yeh thats OK see you there I am aiming to have it ready between 8 and 8:30. You are the last I can give a definate yes to at the moment as I
am waiting for an answer from Bobblehat and the DFH guys before I throw it open to anyone else
-
Hi all, I have just booked on the website so I can save myself the extra £10 over the "on the day" tickets.
I hope to take the day off on Friday but it looks unlikly. If I have to work I should arrive about 9pm.
Will have the Van for sale this weekend unless I sell it beforehand :'( .
See you there!
-
Steve, just to let you know I won't be down till about 10pm on friday, Commer permitting. I'll get a bit of shopping in for breakfasts etc. The Gimp will be joining us on saturday too.
-
The Gimp will be joining us on saturday too.
With or without the lubricant ?
-
Deliah (Rob) and I will be there Friday evening. Not sure what time yet. Looking forward to seeing you all ..... I think ;) ;D
-
The Gimp will be joining us on saturday too.
With or without the lubricant ?
Without hopefully. ;) But there'll be plenty of Duckhams Q by the look of the pool of oil left under where it has been standing since the return from France. I think the big boil-up must have had blown a seal somewhere.
-
[blown a seal somewhere.
There is a joke in there some were, about eskimo's.......... :D
Had a look at the wether forcast and it looks like its we are going to have to bring our brollies........ :-\
-
Yeh just checked it's gonna rain. Oh well it is Silverstone after all. Should make it an interesting race though and well dark by the finish. Looking forward to it Iv'e never been to a night race at Silverstone. And it will probably mean that god awful band won't be in the paddock bar this year. Jesus Christ that singer was ugly, face like a plumbers tool bag. That was no power cut that plug was pulled intentionally.
-
I refuse to accept that it will rain this weekend! I have made the necassery arrangements with the government agencies reponsible for the weather and they say that the weather will move in a counter-clockwise direction around silverstone ;) ;D
I have spoken!
-
Just realised that i am being taken to the Rugby at Twickenham so i wont get to meet more of you.
-
Yeh just checked it's gonna rain.
'kin weather :-\

-
Steve
I wouldn't trust that forecast. Went to Portugal golfing in Feb & they forecast SNOW, we had 4 days of wall to wall sunshine. 8) Hope they are wrong again
-
Yes, and the BBC say sunny intervals instead. However they do think its raining outside now, which it isn't.
Take sun tan lotion and snow shows.
I'm at Castle Combe instead (with no roof)
-
In wise foresight I threw my rain jacket into the truck before it departed this morning. My 8) will come with me on the plane, though.
-
Just realised that i am being taken to the Rugby at Twickenham so i wont get to meet more of you.
Fidget, as entertaining as a trip to Twickenham is, this weekend is only one of many to enjoy the rugby. There is only one Silverstone 1000k a year and you should be there come rain or shine (more like rain I think). Come on you will only regret it later.
-
Saw the Oreca transporter on the M25 this afternoon, which is sadly as close as I will come to any racing this weekend as the dreaded work has scuppered any plans I may have had.
Have a good race chaps.
-

Fidget,
I have to agree with Bob on this one. As much as going to Twickers is a good way to spend a Saturday, and as great as rugby is (despite the Blacks losing to the Boks last weekend), it does not compare to the 1000k! Tell whomever is taking you to Twickers that you have to do your hair/nails or make up some other random excuse to duck out and get up to Silverstone.
-
Passed Silverstone yesterday lots of trucks parked up(but no green be-winged ones, yet ???). Sunny with black clouds here at the mo so hoping that the rain that is forcast for sat is going to fall tonight....yeah some chance
Stev will you be packing your air guitar, I have some air amps I can bring.....
-
Steve will you be packing your air guitar, I have some air amps I can bring.....
Tremendous, I'll dig out the sheet music.
-
...., and the BBC say sunny intervals instead.
Today the BBC say its going to rain, and weather.com say sun.
My seaweed says sun with the occaisional black cloud, so monsoon tyres its is.
Wish I could be there
-
bbc say sun - http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=2688
-
Not going to be able to get there this year :'(
Hope all you boys and girls have a good race, and the rain stays away.
-
Well the van is all packed again!! (Just unpacked it so I can sell it!)
I have done Paddy NL and Smokie a copy of the Speed Tribe DVD anyone else who wants one I might be able to do a few at the circuit.
I had a few of the Sebring Speed TV DVD's copied that I never got round to sending. If I can find the buggers then I will hand them out.
Should be there if work let me go early arriving about 5pm if not then should arrive about 9pm.
See you all there.

Hi Doris
ANother chick on line, great.
My fella type person takes me to lots of motorsport and i havent been to the Rugby yet, it sounds a great day, so its Twickers ( as its nicknamed ) for me.
Hoping to get the grren light for Le Mans so best keep him sweet.
I think my fella type would also like to be at the 1000 klicks with his mates
-
All the weather forecasters.com can't agree, so I think we have to accept that there is a chance of rain, but probably not enough/long enough for wet tyres. This is just what you need for a real 6 hour race (can we get rid of this 1000km thing - it was 500 miles till they got faster.)
Please have one or two for me, as I'm driving to Castle Combe with an 8 am kick off. Please pm the recipe for Tropicoma before 8pm as I'll need it
-
Steve Brown advises me that he will be leaving in half an hour.
-
...I refuse to accept that it will rain this weekend!...
So this is the reason you left your fleece behind. You were in denial. Or was the whole 'Oh no I left my fleece behind and it's a bit chilly' line just a handy get out clause when you couldn't hack the pace any longer and needed a small sleep at 6 in the evening? ;D
-
.....needed a small sleep at 6 in the evening? ;D
More sleep than the Unknown Soldier Gary ::)
-
Sheesh you lot are a tough crowd ;)
I thought it was wiser to allow my core temperature to rise above freezing rather than allow myself to drop into a state of hyperthermia! When you start looing at Andy Zarses "fishermans friend" rain mac and wishing you had one, it's time to admit defeat and retreat to a safe distance ;D
Besides, you lot buggered off without telling me ::) ;D
-
Besides, you lot buggered off without telling me ::) ;D
We didn't want to wake you as we thought you'd be a bit grouchy.
Shall we start a list of the things you missed? ;)
-
Starting with the cute little barmaid in the Paddock Bar. :P
If only I was 20 years younger ::)
-
LOL - I dont think I'm gonna win this conversation, so I think I'll beat a hasty retreat and look for my coat ;)
I'll be back next year!
-
.... and look for my coat!!
Shame you didn't take it to Silverstone :'(
