Title: Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ? Post by: Chris24 on July 11, 2005, 07:19:45 pm OK, just asking if anyone or who is thinking about going to Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.
I am planning on going, but hit a major stumbling block today when the pay deal got rejected on which I was counting on the back pay, dated back to January to finance my flight. However, I am all set for making the trip though so may well book it anyway and hit the plastic and hope that the pay deal sorts itself out sooner rather than later and in enough time to pay off the credit card. Title: Re:Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ? Post by: Fax on July 12, 2005, 02:40:36 pm I bet Road Atlanta is a mess right now, Atlanta got something like 4 inches of rain the other day from Dennis. My little sis lives over in Augusta (clear over on the Georgia-South Carolina border) and they got socked with two inches in about three hours. Road Atlanta may take the rest of the summer to dry out!

Post by: Matt Harper on July 12, 2005, 04:01:24 pm My little sis lives over in Augusta (clear over on the Georgia-South Carolina border) ....just a spit and a holler from Stubbsville, (cue duelling banjo's soundtrack). Just kidding John. Buford GA got 5 in rain in 24 hours Sun/Mon, so a trifle damp at the moment. Title: Re:Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ? Post by: johnevans3 on July 12, 2005, 04:16:18 pm There was something on the Weather Channel about a tornado hitting the Atlanta Speedway, not Road Atlanta track. It did a lot of damage to the NASCAR track so it may be out of commission for awhile. Pictures of buildings down, tower down, etc.
Title: Re: Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ? Post by: Kate Shaw on July 13, 2005, 06:50:17 pm I'm going -- will be camping at Turn 10 with the ALMS people and cheering on the Speed World Challenge boys most especially. ;D I also have a piece in the program which ran in the earlier Road Atlanta program too -- on Chili Pepper Racing.

I am definately coming. Just booked the flight last night and also my Talladega tickets. There will be my dad and myself. We should be arriving at Road Atlanta mid afternoon on the Thursday and will need space to pitch a 3 man dome tent. If possible i would like to pitch it near all the Turn 10 crew. Do I need a car parking pass as well as the camping pass or does the camping pass cover the car as well. Title: Re: Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ? Many thanks - However, sadly (??) I will be scuba diving in the Egyptian Red Sea at the time of the Petit. BUT - I'm defo on for the Sebring 12 Hours - it's in my diary. < me in the Maldives with a bit of debris > (http://photos23.flickr.com/26139540_d8ef9b27f6.jpg) Title: Re: Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ? Post by: Matt Harper on July 15, 2005, 07:52:04 pm Helluva codpiece you've got there Steve. Do your fetishes know no bounds?
It's a shame you can't make it over here for the Petit, you'd love it. Equally entertaining as Sebring - just in a different way. I will be in attendance, along with my uglier brother David, all-knowing sage John Brewer (aka Fax'n'Figures). I'm also hopeful that Andy Z and JPC can make it over for this one, as our guests/co-drivers/beer-luggers. It's a quality weekend. Title: Re: Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ? Post by: DelBoy on July 17, 2005, 05:56:34 pm Wish I could be there, folks, but as you know, I will be sorting out 'The Rest Of My Life' in France.
When is it exactly? - will watch it on sat tv with a stubby or three and a bottle of Chatueau Brain Damage. Have fun. Del Title: Re: Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ? Post by: Andy Zarse on July 18, 2005, 01:13:34 pm Still hoping to be at the Petit, but it's Sebring that I may well have a problem with. The England cricket team are touring India in March and as part of my quest to see cricket on all test playing continents I may have to opt out for the delights of Bombay or Madras and have always fancied a trip to the Sub-continent. Have so far done Australia, New Zealand and the Carribean, only South Africa, India and Sri Lanka to go. I will not be doing Pakistan, mainly because alcohol is banned there. ??? Are they mad or what?
Can't be in two places at once I guess. Title: Re: Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ? Title: Re: Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ? Post by: Fax on July 20, 2005, 01:50:35 pm Kate,
I took a peek at Road Atlanta's website www.roadatlanta.com and it just says that Formula BMW will definitely be there and the rest of the support races are to be announced. Speed GT and Touring may yet end up on the cards...Stay tuned. Fax Title: Re: Petit Le Mans - Anyone going ?
