Thank you to Matt Harper for a very enjoyable evening of company on our trip to Florida.....
Apologies to residents and owners of the houses surrounding our area... I promise when Matt suggested that he might try and wake up the neighbours at midnight, we truly didnt realise he was going to do this..... :D
For the record, any prvious comments about corvettes not being able to deal with corners, all taken back ;0)

A noble effort Mr Harper.

... wonders if Steve Brown is going to do ANY work today - just at the same moment as the boss looks over my shoulder to see me staring at a pair of spectacular skidders.............. if only we did personal injury work at this office I mighta got away with it being photographic evidence of some frightful whiplash injury!!!!

Or would that be skid marks in a pair from M&S Brad

The local sherriff would not have been amused :D

It was an honour to meet you Matt, thanks for taking the time out to visit and for the blast in the Vette - as Brad said it is awesome ;D. We did get some stares from the neighbours ::) the next day though, – mission accomplished ;)
Anybody heading out to Orlando should escape Micky and do the Petrol head day that Brad and I did.
We started out by heading up to Ocala - home of Big daddy Don Garlits and his museum - full of all the generations of his drag cars - including Swamp Rat 21 the car he bought to the UK in 74 and which I saw race at the Pod. He also he also has a separate building for his car collection which includes the Fonz Happy days cruiser (name escapes me - but he actually used to cruse it around Ocala).
Then it was quite a long trek over to Daytona raceway and Daytona USA, huge place grandstands to seat 160,000 people + the centre RV park, the Imax 3D film was very touching tribute to Dale Earnhardt - that must have been an awful day for the sport. Did a tour and stood on the podium.
Then it was down to Orlando Raceway to watch the Bracket racing, some serious machines and some equally seriously quick rice burners (Honda Civic's) blowing off some heavy metal. The strip had to be restricted to an 1/8th mile due to the earlier wet weather, but the Alcohol and Nitrous injected machines were pulling wheelies off the line and running low 7's. We left at 12.30 and they were still going.
Great day.
