;D
-
What is a Stig? ???
-
The Stig is the mysterious Top Gear test driver. Top Gear is BBC's car TV series. Nobody is supposed to know who he is. The name Stig is derived from the first, well, Stig who was Perry McCarthy. The BBC first choose some other name for the test driver which McCarthy found sounding crap. So, he came up with The Stig.
-
Apparently Perry McCarthy was to be called "The Gimp" after a charector from the film Resevoir Dogs but he didn't like it and chose to be called "The Stig"instead.
But I think that the BBC decided that they woudn't use the name because they didn,t want to be associated with "Team Zarse" got there first ;D
When you think about it would Perry McCarthey really want to stand outside The Poo Bar wearing nothing but a gimpmask and a pair of underpants? ::)
Unless you know different.
-
Does the Stig crash alot of cars on this show? ???
-
he may spin a few cars here and there but other than that hes a top notch driver1 ;D :D and fun to watch
-
Did they not give Mark Webber a t shirt on a recent program that said " I am the Stig" on it.

No, but the original one did trash the gearbox on a Jag D type a while back, that got a few people upset.
-
just a tad off topic but
has the stig done a lap in the resonably priced car?
if so, how does it compare to Mark Wedders and Damon Hill's lap time.
-

You used to be able to buy these from the TG website.
-
yeah i you could - i tried but their out of stock now!
>:(
-

I was pretty sure that he did do a lap in the reasonably price car, but cant see any mention of it on the website, so i may have just been dreaming about the mysterious masked motoring marvel!!! :-\
-
Fran
Would this mysterious masked motor racing marvel be......... GIMP ZARSE ;D ;D
-
Oohh Whitey - dont get me aroused!!!!!! :P

I remember the original stig (Perry) did a lap & managed a 1:46 which is a similar time to Damon Hill.
I don't recall the new stig doing a lap (though I may be wrong) & I still reckon the new stig is fractionally quicker.
-
Don't you think that the Suzuki is getting faster for the jokers they put in it? Could the new Stig be a better instructor?
-
Oohh Whitey - dont get me aroused!!!!!! :P
Arousal will get you....everywhere... :P
-
no it is not DT
Tom asked him at Spa and then again at Silverstone
he admits to doing it once (DB9)
the real stig competed at SPA (FIA GT) and Silverstone in the British GT and is BRITISH DRIVER
could be in the Britcar 24hrs
;D ;D ;D
-
the answer appears to be
Ben Collins - embassy racing which might fit with the high profile they like to maintain
-
errrr yeah ::) ???
nah jokin i ave dreams too but u dont wanna no about that
-
the stig is any one of several drivers. inc. PM still from what I hear.
just watch the driving styles - they do differ. to quote eddie irvine "stick any old c**t out in my helmet, no one will know the difference" well eddies was for a photo shoot, but you can have many more than one driver for the stig if you get my drift
-
I reckon it's Felix ::)
-
Do you think the Top Gear team get the full Fish And Chip Treatment ;D
-
I would imagine they would be more partial to a battered sausage :o
-
How about battered mushy peas and battered mars bar :)
By the way i've been elevated to yabb godess
