What with the cricket going so well, there's a silly game on the C4 website I was playing last night. And a chance to win tickets to the Oval on saturday. Oh, and it's wonderfully inflammatory!

I hate thes ethings. I'm crap at them but they waste so much of my time...
Best individual hit = 3700 (update: 6125)
Best overall score 11905 (update: 17202)
Really not very good is it? :)
-
Could agree more, personally I think its more exciting than the real game though.
-
Mr Wills, with comments like that, you sir are a heathen and a palestine!
Actually, I love cricket in the same way I love endurance racing. It goes on a long time, there are some subtlties and you never know whats going to happen next. The Ashes series has been the best sporting event in years. I accept that I'm a sports nut and would probably watch tiddley winks if it was being played at the very highest standard. However, I would contend that anyone who has been bored by the current battle on the pitch either does not have a single sporting bone in his body or alternatively is secretly a woman. :( >:(

Mr Zarse I am deeply offended by such a sexist statement! :o I'm absolutely loving watching the current Ashes series. It's the best Ashes there's been in ages!
-
Unless there's something you're not telling us Doris, you're not secretly a woman. Indeed, you seem quite open about being female.
You're right though, there are some special women who like sport but mostly your lot's eyes glaze over at the very mention of it. :(

I think this kind of women has nuts. That's the big difference. ;)

Is that nuts as in balls? Or did you mean to say that women whose eyes glaze over at the mention of sport are nuts?
-
Steady lads, Doris has teeth.
I will keep my eye on this thread!!! :D
-
All this fuss over cricket! Its just a few men in white, with a few wooden sticks, who parade around a park to make it rain.

Lorry, don't tell me you're a bloody woman too?? >:(
This post is as offensive to me as those pig ignorant mo-fo's who say, "Wadda you wanna watch stupid cars going round and round in circles for?" :(
If you don't like cliff hangers played out with skill and passion by the world's finest and most skillful sportsmen, then you have no sporting soul and are thus an Honourary Woman (girlie division).
-
Well said that man!!!
Personally I have suspicions that Lorry doesn't understand the rules of the fine game....
-
Lorry, don't tell me you're a bloody woman too??
I could be a foreigner - I bet the Americans and the Dutch don't like cricket.
-
Sorry Lorry, but the Dutch do get Cricket! Played in the world cup and also belive play in the minor counties over here to. I also belive the good old USof A are taking to our fair sport too. So I think there for you are a non beliver and a heathen (I am to going to say girlie or woman as i dont wish to lose important parts of my body if I meet Doris at LM!)

If you meet Doris at Le Mans? Doris obviously has "soul" as well as "balls" I doubt that she would have important bits off any of us for loving sport.
In fact "grovel, grovel" I expect she could even explain offside to me so that even I understand it... (And I played footie for years without quite believing why offside was important!)
OK Miss Bitch? Will that be all right Ma'am?
:D
I can't wait for Saturday when we finally show the forexxers what real cricket is.
-
Umm - i like some sport and i am not very interested in others ..... does that make me some kinda hermaphrodite?
-
What amazes me about the current ashes series is the people who couldn't give a monkey about cricket at the start, now talk about cricket as though they have been following it for years.
-
Fran, after giving your question very serious consideration... Ain't no way I could consider you a hermaph... thingy, thingy.
And Rhino, I think the way the latest test series has panned out HAS raised my cricketeering from its recent low, low, low to a reasonable level again.
At last.
;)
-
Rhino - it was the same during the Rugby World Cup.
Fran - maybe you just have one ball??? :o :o
-
didnt Himler have something simlar Smokie?
-
It's Goebbels I feel sorry for Fran :-\
-
Yes Perdu you are quite right i should of writen WHEN.....................
BTW is anyone lucky enough to be going to the Oval this weekend?
-

Babelfish translates nuts as balls... ;)

Ah the offside rule. The one they keep changing to keep everybody slightly confused. Best explained over a few pints I've always found.
Saturday will be a great day. Firstly the Wallabies are going to lose to the All Blacks giving NZ victory in the Tri Nations, and then England are going to kick Aussie butt at The Oval. Oh, and there's also the small matter of a world cup qualifier in Wales I belive. All in all, a great weekend for sport. ;D ;D ;D
-
I don't think anyone will have trouble getting into the Oval this Saturday. The deciding test starts on Thursday 8th.
It's the C&G at Lords on saturday, Hants v Yorks. I'm not sure if Warne, Petersen etc will be playing though.
-
Andy
Not sure if I'm right but being from Yorkshire I thought Hants panned Yorks in the Semi-finals
Whitey
-
They certainly did Whitey!!
It's Hants v Warks on Saturday. Apparently the ECB have given permission for the English test players to join their counties and play in the final, so Pieterson will be there. Not sure if Australia have donw the same or not though (doubt it!) so we probably won't have Warne. Bell and Giles should be available for Warwickshire too.
Ironically, Hants and Warks are playing each other in a 4 day county championship game at The Rose Bowl at the moment which finishes on Friday.
-
Doh! Stupid of me, and me a Bears fan too! I meant Warks not Yorks! ??? ::)
-
And I meant next week then, too! :-[
-
Mr Wills, with comments like that, you sir are a heathen and a palestine!
Sorry Mr Zarse, never been into it, tried playing once - without a box and got remined that I do have b*lls! :o
-
Andy, have you seen the tour dates for India are March 6th to March 30th for the 3 tests. Not sure what the flights are from India to Sebring ;D
-
In preration for the final test I thought I'd have another go at this. Best hit is still only in the early 2000's, and highest total of 10110. Have you seen the high score list?? I think it must be made up!!!
-
Is it just me?
Arggh! I can't stand this any more. I can't get any work done. It's doing my head in. My nerves are in shreds.
Got Test Match Special streaming on the computer. 186-6. 192 ahead. Reckon we need 250+ minimum. There's too much time left for them to spin us out and hit the runs and not enough batsmen left. We're doomed! Or are we? Like I said, I can't stand it no more...
-
Andy, you are not alone!!
-
its as gripping as the World Cup Rugby final with Aus, down to the last seconds in extra time. This time its over a longer period, I'm off to the library to think about other things.
-
209 - 7. England should declare now, we can easily them bowl them out before tea.
Worry not, have a cup of tea and a calm down.
-
213-7 had to stop watching, no finger nails left, they have to get to tea and 250 at least........
-
thats tea!! ;D
-
Gripping stuff ain't it.
You wouldn't normally catch me watching cricket either...
-

Agreed - lets have a balls-out finish - we're good enough to win this test so why play for a draw? It's gonna finish early for bad light anyway!
-
Work is officially suspended at Zarse Inc.
I have waited 18 years, since before I started going to Le Mans even, for England to win the Ashes. Nothing is getting in the way of me watching this one great chance to avenge for the years of supporting England through torment, embarrassment, humiliation by our pals from Downunder.
Come on lads. Just last 15 more overs. You can do it!
-
Is it me or does Flintoff look like our very own Robbo.
TV's on plus the radio is on all around the house in case I have to move away from the TV.
Pietersen is knocking them all round the ground.
-
Is it me or does Flintoff look like our very own Robbo.
That's what I said at Rob's on Saturday night and everyone looked at me like I'd grown a spare head! I'm glad I'm not the only one who can see the likeness.
-
I think Mr Brown is referring to Robbo of the SPS variety and not the one who's sofa you fell off of!
:P
-
Yes...The very same Robbo I was talking about on Saturday night.
And would that be the same sofa you would have fallen off if someone hadn't caught you?
-
::)
mumble mumble DRINK!
-
Is to early to say YEEESSSSSS! Well done England!!!! ;D
-
Here's one I prepared earlier ;D

Blimey, this is enough for me to forget my sore nuts and become a cricket fan!!!
Come on England, and their doin it in style. ;D
