This is probably a question asked many times in the past but...
A group of us are looking to create a "as close as possible" Scalextric track of Le Mans and although Scalextric do layouts of various tracks (mostly F1) they don't do one for Le Mans, does anyone out there have or know of something like that for Le Mans?
It'll just save time messing around making something that looks like it's got the right shape but probably doesn't.

Scalextric run a 1/32 scale, so to rebuild the track correctly you'll need a table which will measure about 175 by 80 metres!! :o :o :o
Some transformer you'll need... :-\
By the looks of it we might have a tent with a small Carrera track at Maison Blanche next year :)

Scalextric have a programme for you computer which can record laptimes off your own track, and has a circuit designing programme aswell

In can't find it at the moment as I'm on another computer but The Rickmeister had a Le Mans layout that he emailed me a couple of years ago. Unless he pops up with it in the meantime I'll post a link to it when I'm back on my laptop

The KKOC archive has only found Brands, Crystal Palace, and Rheims. I'm sure they used to be in the catalogue when I was a boy (and Canute was King), but this would be the proper circuit without all the chicanes and Porker curves. Can't you do Indianapolis, its a lot easier.

You can buy a 24hours set ( i have one in my attic )
But most good toy and model shops sell single lengths of track.
Lots of the cars be bought there too or at www.rcs.co.uk ( i think )

Brilliant. It looks about 40 foot long, but the Mulsanne kink looks a bit tight (it was flat if you had the nerve) and the esses seem a bit slim. But none of the daft chicanes.
Scalectrix used to do connector leads to avoid the voltage drop. You'll need about 10.

Thats an excellent layout. I actually own enough of the stuff to make that layout. At the last check i had somewhere in the region of 200 m of the stuff.
As for having to spend a grand to be able to make a decent size layout. I got all my track from ebay. Buy second hand stuff and then by the Plebys cleaning kit. I don't think i paid more than 300 quid for it all, it needs a fair amount of elbow grease though. Don't buy cars off of ebay though, its not worth the hassle.
Every once and while we hire the sports hall or common rooms at uni for the weekend and make the most ridiculous layouts. Next time we do it i will take some photos and post them. You do need the leads though to prevent your track losing power at the far end from the transformer after the track reaches a certain point.

At least nobody is trying the old Nurburgring.
A scale model of the Nordschleife would leave you with a massive electricity bill in a matter of days.

175 x 80 metres - better bring a bigger truck Paddy, for the table. it would look nice at the back of the DFH stand

Have only just found this thread
My son Paul did a scale LeMans Scalextric some years ago.
It ran through the lounge dining room and hall, all with ajoining doors.
He then held a 24hr race (not scale time)

Got a Le Mans circuit sat upstais in the loft, with two useless cars, seems Scalextric arnt that big here in France, Spain seems to be different though :(
