Title: bicycles for rent? Post by: Jonnyspa27 on October 20, 2005, 04:40:11 pm I've had thoughts of taking my bike over for transportation but since I don't want a missing carbon Trek I am looking the way of rentals. Anyone have a clue on where to go and what rates may be? Shall I consult Michelin?

Would you be willing to rent two bikes for the week for some quality artwork from myself? By the way what kind of bikes are they? Hybrid, comfort or mountain? What kind of components do they have? Let me know if you want to see some samples of my work. Title: Re: bicycles for rent? What I mean by components are the cranks, brakes, derailleurs etc... Are they Shimano or some other make. If they are Shimano what groupo are they? Alivio, Avcera, Deore? What bike brands do you deal with? Specialized, Giant, Trek? As for samples of my work I had a Le Mans based art show last December and Christophe Bastin of http://home.nordnet.fr/~cbastin/ has kept a photo dossier and record of the show. Just scroll on the to 'Dossiers' and then click 'Alex's Art Show' and you will be there, the presentation is at the top and the photo link is just below. I have work of Mr. Ickx, the 956 Porsche, Sauber-Merc C9, 1970 Le Mans poster and a few more things. Let me know what you think please. ENJOY! ;D Title: Re: bicycles for rent? That Rothmans' Porsche, I must have it on my wall. Must I tell you, must! Title: Re: bicycles for rent? Post by: Jonnyspa27 on October 24, 2005, 10:09:59 pm They're ready for shipping this Christmas! ;) Seriously though thanks, I really enjoyed doing that show. I would have loved to have had the ACO put it on display at the museum there and give me all the trimmings for this June but Not yet at least. 8) I'd like to see if I can get the one of Jacky signed as well as the 956 by Jacky and Derek. Now how to ship it over? :-\

When I look at your art work I better understand your fascination about mechanical components... Most of them are Shimano, don't know the generation, and brands depending of opportunities and choice and tastes of differents owners... some are Specialized or Giant, others are unknown discount brands !!!! I really appreciate your art work, it even be possible to try to organize an art show in our castle or I at least would really help you to organize an art show here in Le Mans, sure you'll make a few money. For shipping, why not try to join European CA members coming in the USA for different races asking them become art carriers on their return flight ?? Otherwise ask FedEx for an estimate... Title: Re: bicycles for rent? Post by: Jonnyspa27 on October 26, 2005, 08:28:22 am I think, stress on think, since I work at a bike shop I would be able to get a tandem bike box and use that to ship the paintings with me. The only problem would be the Bentley painting it's 8 ft long and 3 ft high. The 956 is 6 ft high and tapers from 4 ft at the bottom to 1.5 ft at the top. I would love the opportunity to show my work in Le Mans at your castle, have the work that was inspired by Le Mans actually in Le Mans. I think shipping Fed Ex could be REALLY cashy, and I don't know many members on here. I think that if I took it on my flight it would cost just as much as if I had it go with some CA compadres. Ah don't you just love logistics?! Honestly if the opportunity does exist to show there in Le Mans I would love to do everything possible to make it happen.
