Title: SECAM to NTSC or PAL?

Anyone have any idea if video tapes in the French SECAM format can be converted to the North American NTSC (or British PAL, my DVD will play that) format?  I found a video tape I'd like to convert to something I can actually watch (either in VHS tape or DVD) but I'm not even sure if it can be done.  Not terribly keen on the idea of spending over $1000 on a multi format VHS player for one tape.

Bring it with you, when you come to Sebring - I've got a multi-lingual VCR - and Steve Harper has the technology to do just about anything with your tape.
