Four Astons in GT1
Yippee ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
LMP1 only the single Zytec is shown, RFM sports were reporting that they had sanction from the ACO to run a second car with Johnny Herbert and Guy Smith.
Is that it, as only Creation and Radical are shown on the reserve list for this class?
I'm deeply disappointed. >:(
-
Every year the cars on the reserve list are mainly "GBR". Lets hope a few pull out
-
I'm not complaining with 4 Astons, 2 Spykers, RfH and a Lamborghini!!
-
I was hoping to see more Lambo's though,
why? Don't know :D
-
beat me too it!! only one zytek??? >:(
as a imp fan , was hopeful of a run for the man, and no
sure run for Mr short either ....... boo hooo
If a diesel is gunna win it at least have some decent opponents......,
or is it to allow an easy ride to piss off peugeot???
at least aston are coming mob handed ;D ;D

Moggęh ;D

Interesting that Russian Age Racing have added a DB9 to complement their usual Ferrari 550, just seems an odd combination, two completely different cars. Previously, some teams have used different engines but at least in the same chassis.
-
I recall that DBR9s are rationed. Whilst the Russians may have the money, the drivers in the No 2 car are not that quick.

I thought they ran the same cars in LMES last year?
-
Most certainly Paddy, mon brave, I was thinking mainly about running them together at the same event. No doubt someone will have info to the contrary :o
-
There's still a chance that Russian Age Racing might ditch their 550 in favor of another DBR9. Changing cars is allowed in the same class, switching classes isn't.
-
Two Spykers and the RfH Dome. DfH must be chuffed
-
And an orange colored Multimatic Panoz Esperante ! :)
-
One RfH?
Only one Rollcenter?
One Creation? Modified after it was pointed out!!!
I am happy with the four astons though.
-
One RfH?
I think Good Ol' Jan likes to keep RfH a little longer ;)

I really hope though that with one car he can focus on, he can beat the Audi's (and of course the Astons (that would be nice though))

Creation is No 9
And we're all happy with 4 Astons this side of the pond

Lacking 40 bhp? Nope. Audi can only be beat by durability, nothing else.
-
Why has Luc Alphand gone and bought a second hand C5-R though?
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't the Saleen withdrawn?
So the 2nd Creation car is in already.

You're right! Fran will be upset now :-\
-
Someone else up this time of night, Paddy.
Thought it was only me catching up on the forum.
Just noticed, Tom's awake as well.
-
need glasses fixed, MR short is in... yippeeee!!
but still a 2nd zytek would be good!!
-

Oreca did withdraw its entry for Saleen's but the AMECO entry is still going ahead. (for the moment)
Given that the works Zytek is yet to hit the track a 2nd entry may have been a bit beyond them.
The 2 Creation should get in, its normal for at least one team to drop out.
Glad to see 2 Panozs with LNT given the chance they are not all hot air
-
Saleen withdrawn
Nooooooooooooo, who am i gonna support now? There arent any pretty ones left ....... :'( :'(

well, looking at the entry list my guess for this year is:
LMP1: Will be less interesting than last year. While "Henry the beard" Pescarolo could seriously compete with the over-weighted and air-intake-restricted Audi R8 in 2005, he'll be no match for the new R10 and the works team this year, he just doesn't have the resources, same goes for the other LMP1 teams. I guess we'll have to wait for 2007 to see a real battle in that class (Peugeot).
LMP2: I see no clear favourite and expect actually the same reliability drama as last year, when the best of the survivors in this class finished even way beyond the quickest GT2 car.
LMGT1: This is the battle to watch for! I see no favourite and expect a thrilling duell between the Corvettes and the Astons, but even a surprise Ferrari win is possible
LMGT2: Similar exiting as GT1 although I beleave that you still need a Porsche to win this class, the question is, which one of the Porsches will do it. But hopefully I'm wrong and the e.g. the Spykers will give them a chase.
-
Anyone reckon the Lister LMP1 will survive the night?
-
Anyone know why RML are not included after last years great effort?
-
They are, number 25

Never mind the night, last time it never survived practice!

I agree about P2 and the GT classes, but I don't think the new Audi will be the fastest car there and if one of the other teams can make there car last then we may have a battle.
But it would take a brave person to bet against A Joest Number 8 with TK in it. If luck plays any part is there a better combination to have?

I must be going blind or mad. I went through the list twice and never saw them. 8)
I need a drink

Anyone reckon the Lister LMP1 will survive the night?
A couple of years ago it didn't even make the mid session interval on Wednesday qualifing, if I remember a certain JCW went nose first into the barriers at Tetre Rouge.
Almost disturbed the 'Greet the Moose session', I was most upset as it looked intresting and I wanted to see it running, all I saw was a crumpled wreck :(
PS Must remember to read rest of posts, sorry Nordic for the echo.

Saleen withdrawn

Think theres one left Fran, if you notice the time of the post I think me and my friend, the bottle of Martell, forgot that Oreca were not the only team running Saleen's.
Still think that Creation will get in, but I hope not at the expense of the Ameco entry, pretty car that makes a proper noise.
Nice to see a reserve list that isn't all Porsche 911's
-
[cynical mode ON]
I see that the WR entry for Sebring didn't, in the end, compete.
They had said that they would enter Sebring to push their case for a LM entry.
Looking at the LM entry list, they need not have bothered. (The Rachel Welter car is on the reserve list though).
[/cynical mode OFF]
-
They have been turning up for years, they're part of the furniture, and someone has to come last. If the Welters get an entry, its one less 911.
But there are some far more interesting cars on the reserve list
-
I've been out of the loop for a while but started catching back up with Sebring this year. I thought Penske/Porsche was entering this year? What'd I miss?
-
The miserable gits are only playing in the States this year
-
According to Planetlemans, Russian Age Racing now have a second Aston and have changed their name to Team Modena. The ACO have not updated.
Thats 5 Astons
-
Interestingly T2M and Noel De Bello have withdrawn there Porsches from the Istanbul LMS round of the championship. Both these cars have Le Mans entries, so I think they should do the honourable thing and pull out.
That way we will have the 2nd Rollcentre and Creation cars in.
