Erm, as a newbie to this Le Mans lark, when can I realistically expect to see my tickets pop through the letterbox? I ordered mine from Just Tickets and am beginning to get a bit paranoid with just over 2 months to go... :-\
Thanks,
Patrick.

You will get them from Just Tickets about a week or so before the event! I would call them if you are departing the saturday before to ensure they are dispatched in time.
-
Thanks Rick - being over here in Northern Ireland, I want to make sure that they get here in good time - the post can be less than reliable sometimes.
Patrick.

Got mine from JT end of april last year, you get for what you've paid for with them (http://dfh.vandijkonline.net/images/smiles/icon_thumbsup.gif)

I e-mailed them this morning to be sure everything was in order before booking the airline. Would have been a real bummer to drop all that cash on plane tickets only to get screwed on the camping pass. They responded quickly that all was set although they did not indicate when they would be shipped. I've been impressed thus far.
-
Beware the first letter of your surname, Hardpoint.
They tend to run down the alphabethical order as for posting tickets in France :-\

I've not heard of tickets going missing in the Post. They don't send them out untill quite close to the Race If you don't have them say a week before before you leave then call them.

I recieved a second e-mail today saying that they will be mailed two weeks before the race.

Uh oh. Hardpoint's surname is Zwieback! :o ;D
That 2 week mailing window doesn't exactly fill me with confidence, but I suppose we have no choice. His name is far closer to the beginning of the alphabet than mine, so I guess it's a good thing he ordered them instead of me if we're cutting it that close.

Hey, dont worry
I'm still waiting for my LM 24 hr BIKE tickets, and we leave in 17 days !!

that's pushing it a bit by the ACO if you live outside Europe :-\
-
To add to the anxiety, the tickets are being shipped to my sister in Scotland because of the outrageous fee that JT wanted to charge to ship them here. I guess I'll have her overnight them to me once she gets them, thus eliminating ANY savings I would of had. ::)

HP, when are you YFDS lads due to arrive in LM?
An alternative would be to have the tickets delivered to a UK LM person (such as me) and then pass them to you on arrival in Le Mans.
If you're in a campsite other than MB, you'll just need the camping passes initially.
-
We'll be arriving at LM sometime on Thursday (as early as possible) and camping in Karting Nord.
-
I'll be in Houx Annexe from Wednesday afternoon.
-
That may be a good alternative. I'm gonna e-mail JT next month and see if I can't get them shipped out a little early. Thanks.

I spoke to ACO this morning, I asked when this year tickets would be going out. the lady said end of the month.
-
That will be the end of June then knowing the ACO ;D

I've got a feeling deliveries will be arriving late this year...

Oh dear!. We're all totally screwed then :'(

I live half an hour from the circuit and buy my tickets direct. Still, they don't get printed until a month or so before the race (once the 24 hour bike race is out of the way. My advice for anxious purchasers is to order the tickets direct from the ACO and pick them up at the "Centre d'Exposition" (opposite the airfield) when you arrive. If you plan to come the following year, you can then put your provisional order in straight away and will get the best campsite/tribune spots at the best prices.
-
Just as a bit of info, when i went to the PQ in 04 and collected my tickets, the ACO actually printed them there and then! Nothing had been sent out up to that point!

That's a nice idea, the trouble is that for those of us who arrive on the Sunday before the race the wecome centre isn't open and we then have to go to collect the tickets on Monday morning (and IIRC it's not a 9am start for them?).
Secondly I think Paddy and others booked their camping tickets that time last year and still go bumped off MB!!
I think having a french address may be the advantage you have over the rest of us!

So did we, and I think they printed them there and then in 2003 too. Last year we managed to collect at PQ too, although hardly anyone went.
I think we must have collected tickets for at least 10 years, following the great disaster of 1990, when they forgot to send them out at all. We arranged for part of the team to collect them, as they'd arrive a fews hours before the main party. They sat outside MB drinking warm beer for 4 hours waiting for us, as we were a little late. They were completely legless. We had to help them back in, once we'd relieved them of £1,000 worth of tickets.
