Hi,
I just came across this fairly cool site. http://www.frappr.com/clubarnage/ you can place a pin on the map near to where you live so. It might be interesting to see where in the world CAers are.
I have to say it's not the easiest site to navigate but still.

There's a size bar at the left. By clicking - or [-] you can zoom in and out.

Done!

This map is a piece of sh-it. It does not recognise my village, nor indeed does it recognise Crawley, home to the fourth busiest international airport in the world!!! Nor does it understand what a UK postcode is. It's absolutely hopeless, total foreign rubbish!!!

Luddite ::) Granted, it's a US site with a US zipcode background. Click "not a US address" and type in a more detailed location such as 'Crawley, England'. A pop up box should give you some options.
I'm afraid the picturesque village of Upper Zarse is not on the database though ;)
(btw, Nordic managed to find Crawley, England ;) )

Rick
If you go into profiles you can fine tune where your 'flag' is placed
-
Thanks Steve. I've tried all that and it didn't work so the map remains sh-it. I can't work out how Nordic did it.
In the meantime, I refuse to change my opinion and would like to smash this map's stupid grinning face in. I'm not in a very good mood today. >:(
-
Andy, I've taken the liberty of adding you on your behalf!
-
I'm not in a very good mood today. >:(
No kidding!! ::) - I thought young Vic Meldrew Zarse had hijacked your computer!
-
Done!!
And Mr Zarse si on there too!!! ;)
-
Take me off this second or I'll have a temper tantrum!
-
Andy is right. The map is really crap. The rest of Europe looks completely undevelopped.
-
Hey I live in The Hague , but this map puts me Amsterdam when I don't correct it! Same goes for Pieter...
-
Thank God for a bit of cross-border international consensus. I feel a French-style protest coming on...
Tear down the map!
Tear down the map!
Tear down the map!

I'm afraid we have the US-centric www.frappr.com (http://www.frappr.com) to blame for that.
They haven't bought this web address though http://www.frappr.co.uk/

Done, found Portsmouth UK easily enough
Maybe because the yanks like Portsmouth ? And detest Gatwick ?
-
Three from the States now.

Hi Robbo, hope you had a great holiday in Latvia, sounds fun!
The last American citizen I saw in Portsmaouth was in the Yellow River Cafe in Gunwharf Quay, he was a sailor off a US Navy ship. He ordered the soup, waved away the spoon and tried to eat it with chopsticks!! Me and Chris Z pissed ourselves. Talking of which, the Yanks probably hate Gatwick because Chris is so rude to them everyday. Actually he's rude to everyone. It's his job! Last week he saw me emerge from the train station and go to the loo for a pee. Being the "man on the mike", he announced that "the playing of ball games is not allowed in the airport". And I bet he'd have nothing to do with this ridiculous map either.

Tear down the map!
There you go Mr Zarse it's a picture now. :-)

I wanted to move the pin closer to the Circuit but I can't see how to do that.

You can in fact move your little marker to the exact spot you live if you so wish.
If you go to 'my details' you can pinpoint your position, you need a steady hand, I moved to Redhill at one point!
Odd site, I seen to have a new friend in the USA, he has even sent me a picture of himself.

Apprently I now live in a feild! cant seem to move out of it.
The Zoomed in image of my house looks the same as the Google Earth image, taken about this time last year.
-
It is powered by Google so i probably uses the same maps, I can't move my locator to anywhere near I live!
-
Done, at least it knew where Guernsey was although there was the option of a US one. Prob bigger.
>Martini...

Only Big H could have put in an entry like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o
-
I'm the most Northerly (in the UK anyway :( )
-
bit tricky but sorted ;D

But you can’t zoom in on Guantamano bay.......... strange that, good thing really - don’t want to see his willy even by Satellite.

Done (eventually!). As has been said, not exactly the easiest site to navigate around.
How does the photo get added to the slide show??

I have to agree there. One could say it IS User Friendly it just very choosey when it comes to who is friends are. Personaly I think it's User Hostile.
Just add a photo via the Add Photo link at the bottom of the slideshow.

done me thingy :-\

Bastard still owes me for the 50 gallon drum of 20W-50 cooking oil I got from Sellafield for him.

Steve, I'm sure you can round up some of those refined types that inhabit HA to duff him up a bit 8)

Mr FS you have your Car Manufacturers pin.
Hows that for Service ;)?

Yep, I thought I had a special friend for a moment.
Mr FS you clearly don't understand HA's. We are lovers not fighters and would not duff up anyone. Typical of a Mason Blancher to suggest it.

That's just the sort of thing an HA pussy would say 8)

However, for Felix, I may make an exception >:(

OK I've done it too but don't expect decent target analysis from it. It won't let me drop the marker on my old AA van so it shows me in Brummagem.
Oh well, usual story. Close, no ceegar! 8)
-
Done!!
-
I'm on there now, but chrisbeatty beat me to the punch to claim Norwich.
I should stick my pin in Aberdeen, where my folks live as its only a temporary (for temporary read several years) living south of the border. I'm sure I would then be the furthest north CA member in the UK.

Interestingly, that was word of the day from Dictionary.com on tuesday!
Word of the Day for Tuesday April 4, 2006
brummagem \BRUHM-uh-juhm\, adjective:
Cheap and showy, tawdry; also, spurious, counterfeit.
-
Sorry Jay.
-
An Inverurie Man I see Nick. I'm from Banchory just down the road from the Garioch.
A Locos man???
-
Opposite of you, living up here, but from down there You going this year?
-
Of course. Nine of us on Beausejour, a record number for our mob. But in terms of the bunch of oldies on here our group is relatively hatchlings with this year only being our fifth venture to la Sarthe.
-
Cool.
You'll be able to spot us in HA if you're over that way, we'll have a club arnage flag and a jolly roger.
-
I'm done too :D

Done :)

I think it only allows you to have one pin. It kinda makes sense since you can only be in one time and space. (Unless of course you have an infinite Improbability Drive in which case you pass though every point in space and time each time you drive.)
