I have seen several people asking for Club Arnage flags. Done some investigation, and found a company who can make flags like we had last year for €25,- each. There is one minor, the minimum order has to be 25 pieces. Please let me know if you're interested asap. They will need 3 - 4 weeks to produce, so we are pushing it a bit...

Small update: 12 ordered so far, we need double that to have an interesting price. They need 3 - 4 weeks to produce, end of order date should be 5th of May to be on the safe side.
If we order only 15 pieces, price will go up to €43,- each, so that's a significant difference...

OK, any thoughts on how we resolve this? I'd really like a flag but at this rate we're not going to get enough to get the cheap price?
I don't mind contributing a bit extra towards a float so that we can order the extras and then hopefully flog them off nearer to the 24 - not sure how that might work out practically though??
Thoughts anyone?

Forgot to mention that I would imagine that when people see them at Le mans they would possibly like to buy one for next year.

Okay. Slight multiple amount of dilemmas here.
First one is the amount of people. Up untill now we have 16 flags ordered.

This is not enough. But I have some weird plan.
An amount of 25 flags works out €25,- a piece, while an amount of 16 flags would be €43,- each.
Why don't we pay an extra 7 Euros and order two a person. Then the second (unwanted) flag can be sold for the required €25,- to whoever you want, so there is no significant loss in the end. I think that's the only way, unless you want to pay nearly £30,- a flag.
Secondly it's the artwork.
I've been in contact with Robbo, and the file he has is too small. 4kB simply won't work on a flag which works out 100x150 cms.
I have also been in contact with Grand Fromage, who gave me the mail address of ChrisConsidine, but Chris doesn't respond. Maybe he is on a holiday - or his mailbox cannot be reached, but I haven't had a response since my mail dated April 7th.
So I have been photoshopping in the mean time. And what I've come up with is slightly different to the original>>

So that is how the situation works out. The flags are more expensive then announced, and the artwork doesn't match up completely. Maybe my last hope is Martini, I will send him a PM to see what he can do. If you look closely, it's only the checkered flag that doesn't match. The rest is okay.
I will send PM to all involved somewhere this week to get all answers.
Will let you all know asap what happens with this...

Paddy that sounds like a fab idea - good creative thinking!
The artwork looks fine to me (but I'm not in the slightest bit creative!!) - on the basis it's going to be stuck at least six metres on the ground I doubt anyone is going to notice any differences!
Count me in & let me know how to get you the money - paypal or Euro's at Spa LMS perhaps? In fact if you want me to collect UK money from people I'll change it up and bring it to Spa if that makes life easier....

I can probably work with that, even though I have to photoshop the text and curvy bits to get it all properly at 100x150 cms.
Will try over the weekend, I think it's possible!

Who were the flag printers? I'm surprised that the liquidator hasn't given the artwork back to customers. I may be able to track it down.

There's no trace of a Zig zag flags going bust in the last 3 years. The website and ebay shop have gone.

Probably them. They only lasted a year, can't tell exactly what they did, and it was dissolved rather than liquidated, which is the honourable way out usually.
If they were cheap, that would explain it

Even if dissolved if someone was able to trace an ex-director they might have the artwork knocking about somewhere... clock is ticking to get it sorted before LM tho. :-\

Hold it. Looks like you've mixed up the amounts.
This is what I said>>

So two flags should be €50,-, which is -yes, well guessed- £32,- Sterling ;)
I will work on the flag tomorrow, try to put order down on Monday :)

Don't know, Paddy - that's about 8 by 5 in English money, and I can't find one that size. The regular size, 5 x 3 go for between £3 and £4.

Belay that - just found an 8 x 5 Union Flag for £14.77 inclusive of post and packing. That's about the same as your one when you include postage.

What was US aircraft carrier size about 20 x 30. Could be feet or metres.
Bet they sell loads of Union flags in Holland. Just proves what crap you get on ebay

Okay guys, it took a while, but I think this is an acceptable copied version of the original. We'll be in time if I put the order through on Monday, so all who requested will get email or PM with payment details. I will send by post as far as possible, but some of you might want to collect from Maison Blanche to be on the safe side :)

That will be fine werner, I will keep track of all who have ordered and stuff. Due to all kind of business I am far behind in all, but at least I have finished the artwork in time. File is on it's way to the printery, should be there in time for Le Mans.
Those PMs will be done tonight, just to be on the safe side and for tracking purposes.

That was me. I leave Tuesday night (a week today). If you can't get them on the courier on Friday then we can arrange to meet somewhere in Le Mans.
