Every year it seems the French introduce some new items that are required to be carried in a car by law. Over the last few years I have acquired: a warning triangle, first aid kit, extinguisher, spare bulbs, spare fuses etc. Unfortunately, I only seem to find out when I get to Portsmouth and consequently get fleeced by the shop at the terminal. Does anybody know of additons I should try and get in advance this year??

I trust you ment an alcohol test kit.
this comprises of one crate stella artois and a 20metre white line to pidgeon walk on after comsuming the crate of beer.
seriously i had asked P&O, the regs are the same, red triangle and a spare bulb kit for cars, just bulbs for bikes.
safe journey.

I have read that although it is law to carry bulb kit, to change a headlight bulb on some modern cars is a 90 minute dealer job, as internal bits need to come out to access the bulbs. Makes it a pretty stuipid law then really...

I don't have a spare wheel or a tyre foam inflator thing
let alone all this other stuff.
I do carry a few spare fuses and a 12v power station though.
But only because I need them now and again...
