I'm just taking a read through, it's excellent :). I'll sneak in a couple of prints to the colour printer at work in the morning.
Simon
-
Good work! We're having our final major planning meeting in about 45 minutes, so I'll give this a read now, see if there's any useful points I can bring up.
-
Great work everyone involved. a great effort and just in time to stop people buying Autosports usual sad rag
-
well done guys, will be a great help to us bravo
-
Erm, where is it exactly? I can't seem to download anything :(
-
That's wonderful.
Will sneak a copy off at work tomorrow.
Cheers to all the contributors, see you a week on Saturday, 8.30 for 9 ;D :P
-
Cracking result W. Stand outside the gate selling them, you'll make a fortune.

Great work, looks like a good read. One thing though, on Smokies picture, is Allan McNish looking through his ear and thinking "I can see right through and out the other side !"
-
Brilliant!!!
Well done everyone involved, but especially Werner!!
-
Brilliant
Thanks to all who participated in its compilation.
I'm another who's work laser printer will be doing a bit of overtime tomorrow ;)
-
Great work !!! Kept me smiling for the last 20 minutes while scanning through it. Thanks very much to Werner and all others involved. :D
-
Absolutely superb. I agree with Lorry, you could sell them and make a fortune. ;)
-
Werner and to all other who added there bit to this guide top job to all

OK, I don't know what was going on at home but I was still getting the original project page, even after hard refreshing. Now at work and I can see the correct link. ;D
-
Brilliant Werner and everyone who helped. What a great community we are.
-
Top work fella,
and all who put in the effort to produce such a good guide.
-
What a great guide, - I won't be leaving home without it!
to all who have put time, effort and energy into it - Cheers
-
Good Effort, well done to all involved. :)
-
Fantastic......................nuff said ;D
-
Absolutely incredible job. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed.
I'm now a full 84% less ignorant. (In terms of Le Mans, anyway). ;D
-
as with all the above, fantastic work ;D ;D puts this whole CA thing in a league of its own. I am honoured to be included as a CA'er.
Brilliant.
-
Superb, well done to all involved. Puts many a 'professional' publication to shame!
;D ;D ;D ;D
-
It is totally terrific. Sorry I didn't have enough time to get involved. Let's hope it finds the widest audience possible.
-
top guide chaps!
-
If only this was available when i started going. Great guide.
-
Wow, just checked the logfiles, more than 300 downloads since 10:00 pm yesterday. Interesting to see where people came from, news about this guide can be found in the Porsche Club GB Forum, Aston Martin Owners Club, pistonheads and many others..., looks like our effort was well worth it
-
I have just downloaded this guide and all I can say is WOW!
As a virtual LM Virgin, first time back for 33 years, this is going to be my bible.
Thanks to all concerned!
Marvellous.
Andrew
-
Top quality effort.
Thank you to everyone who was involved.
-
I echo all the above sentiments, I have 5 virgins coming and I will be provididng each with a copy to familiarise themselves with what all the fuss is about.
-
Thanks a bunch, what an amazing piece of work. I went for the first time in 1970 with Steve McQueen (well, he tried to run me over) and there's stuff I didn't know in here. 4 more pages than Autosport and TRMG decided not to do theirs because the ACO wouldn't let them sell it inside the circuit. You should clean up.
-
Nicely done Werner and Co.
Looks good, i've e-mailed the link round the world now.
-
Well done Werner and all of those who helped putting this togerther 8)
I wish that this had been available when I first went to LM, it would have saved stacks of time and money.
-
This is a really brilliant, well done, it must have taken a heck of a lot of work!!
-
Great showing by all involved!! There's loads of really good info, up to date too :D
A copy is going out to all that are travelling with me!!
The only problem is going to be topping it next year... ;)
I think one of our illustrious mods should sticky this topic post-haste!!
-
The only problem is going to be topping it next year... ;)
The 2007 edition can top this one , it all depends on our input, e.g. better campsite description with pics of the facilities, more shopping locations and others. Except the 2006 specific parts like e.g. entry list a lot can be used again with some modifications.
Cheers
Werner
-
I never thought of taking pictures of the campsite bogs and showers before but if it would be usful for next years guide I am happy to do so
-
I think we should try and take as many pictures of facilities as possible this year to enhance next years guide, especially people on different campsites.
-
I never thought of taking pictures of the campsite bogs...
Best do so before thousands have used them ;D ;D ;D
-
also, taking photos of those poor souls who have left the righteous path and have succumbed to the demon drink and other excesses of the flesh. it may be enough as a warning to any other brethren. amen, brother.
-
Like last year you mean? Here are the bogs on Houx Annex and this is before the race started and those filthy HAers had got at them.

-
why did you take a picture of the urinals?!
anyway, i like this picture:

These are in BSJ, i am before my time it seems:
I will happily write a section on photgraphing arses and the best positions, techniques and equipment to use, and also when to duck and/or run ;D
-
HA bogs have been upgraded this year
-
This is a fabulous piece of work - Well done :)
I hope it's ok - but I posted the link over on the Porsche Club Forum.
I don't think the increased number of downloads will be too bad ;D But it's given CA a bit more coverage!
(That's an improvement for next year - a prominent www.clubarnage.com on the front cover!)
-
ha ha another thread gets down to the basics
-
More than 500 downloads already...
-
oh ok then for the good of the guide i will try and visit more bars in the town centre as well as the original one to make sure they are of a high enough standard !! ;) ;)
Andy

Top job. Well done to all.
-
Excellent job everyone, have already printed my version, duplex colour, and bound it.
Thanks for the idea in the first plce Werner
>Martini...
-
What a fantastic piece of work!! Should be compulsory reading for all attendees...
Thanks Werner and all contributors.
-
I spent an hour reading it at work this afternoon, well done to everyone involved.
-
Excellent. Far to good to be given away, perhaps next year we could put a small charge or even optional donation on the download for Doris's charity (??? can that be done ???).
Whatever - Blo**dy good job :o
-
An absobloodylutely first class publication that would not look out of place in Motorbooks or Chaters.
Well done to Werner for stringing this all together and to all those who had a part in it's development.
I taken the liberty of posting details of this on the cobra forums
UK Cobra Replica Club (http://www.cobraclub.com/forum/index.php) and
Snaketorque (http://snaketorque.co.uk/smf/index.php) and at
Mr Toad's Beermountain (http://imagesupplier.co.uk/beermount/)
-
I have to say the response across the net for this has been absolutely phenomenal. I was surfing a hole host of motorsport forums this afternoon (not one word about lazy students) and it seems to be cropping up everywhere and with nothing but resounding praise.
Something Werner and Club Arnage can be truly proud of.
-
Werner, quite simply- thanks!
marvellous work.
:D :D :D
-
I'd just like to add my congrats to Werner and all the contributors also.
Couldn't make an original contrubution this time around but will definitely be keeping an eye out for worthwhile items for next year's effort.
Like others have already said it puts the feeble Autosport guide to shame.
-
It's like with software, there's already an update available, as page 31 (the map) got messed up when compiling the pdf....
1.100 downloads yesterday, when looking from which sites users came from, news about our guide seems to be evrywhere. There was even someone coming from a server in Basra/Irak, no kidding
Good morning everybody
Werner
-
Great work Werner, see you next week.

I guess that could be one of our military guys serving in Basra?
-
Downloads this morning between 6:00 and 8:00 am: Who the hell is coming from Mauritius to Le Mans? ;D ;D ;D
52.53% United Kingdom
37.37% Germany
4.04% United States
4.04% Mauritius
1.01% France
1.01% Netherlands

Lets hope that's who it is!
As an asside, who's taking bets on how long it be before we see the first copy for sale on ebay?
-
I wouldn't be suprised to see some of the content of Werner's guide appear in the Autosport guide next year. That's if they can be arsed to update it.
-
I am at a campsite and the blimmin pc wont let me open it up :-[ - still i can find out what i missed when i get home! sound brilliant tho......

Just concentrate on your tan, Fran :) There will be copies floating around next week.
-
It is a top quality publication. Well done people.
-
A big thanks to Werner and all involved, an absolutely splendid publication. It's going to save me anwering an awful lot of questions from the six LM virgins I'm bringing with me this year.
Congrats again
Lardy
-
Very good effort all round chaps. :)
This will be talked about by a lot of people.
Well done.
-
Supurb, just had it bound at the local ;D

Your pub does binding?? We'll I suppose if theres a market for it then good luck to them.
This Guide is great by the way, very useful for newbies and very interesting for old hats. Well done (http://www.ftooc.org/phpbb/images/smiles/023.gif)
-
What a great guide. Thanks to everyone for their hard work. I just wish I had had it on my first trip back in 1992. But I am sure I will be refering to it this year.
Thanks.
-
Just want to echo everone else's praise. Top job Werner & Crew
-
Bound mine in the shed, with a drill, and some nuts and bolts.
Looks the business and works, plus I'll be able to use the bindings on next years copy!
-
As a noob this is just what I need! The Autosport jobbie was a bit cr*p.
Cheers to all involved!

I am trying Kpy - staying at one of those very progressive "european" places if you get my drift - not a knotted hanky in sight ;)
-
The guide surpasses anything else on the subject. Congratulations and thanks to all contributors.
See you all there in a few days :P
Doug
-
Absolutely superb and obviously a lot of hard work by a fair few folk. Many thanks.
-
Can I just add, on behalf of everyone at Team Gulp Racing, our thanks to Werner and everyone who contributed to this years guide. Very proud to have our logo alongside everyone elses on the front cover.
I know many of my fellow Porsche people at the Porsche Club Great Britain will find this extremely useful this year, and I hope at least some of them will find their way to Club Arnage to support and contribute in the build up to Le Mans 2007.
Cheers guys. ;)
P.S. Still can't believe I've only totalled 66 posts - I've been visiting here daily since the old format forum circa 1998!
-
Good morning everybody
App. 2500 downloads since the final version went online, even this morning there were already 45 downloads, with one from a server in New Zealand.
I also got quite a few positive feedback mails to my personal mail account, looks like we all have really done a good job :D.
Cheers
Werner
-
We should try to get a mention for it on Radio Le Mans now they are not being sponsored by Autosport.
Perhaps one of the guys already there can have a word.
-
Wonder if the download in NZ was Paula
-
the guide was amazing, brought a colour-printed copy to the DFH-compound and it was a very well-read piece of work
my compliments :)
-
Werner, any chance of an update on the number of downloads?
-
2550 downloads until Friday before the race! It was really worth the effort so we should do it again in 2007. I received a lot of positive feedback. I'll set up a new project page in the next weeks and will start to work on it already. To all of you: If you have some input, especially corrections please sent them now before all fades away from the memory ;) Okay, for the tropicoma addicts its probably difficult anyway ;D
Cheers
Werner
-
Now Werner, did you want pics of the Classic entries so you can update the guide for a couple of weeks time...? No, just kidding. Fab job, loved the guide, great to meet you, stunning fashion statement!
-
I met Werner at HA roundabout on Friday night. When I Mentioned the guide and said what a excellent job he had made of it he would take no praise and insisted that it was a team effort.
Team effort it may have been but someone had to come up with the idea and correlate all the contributions. Top marks for that Werner, the end product after such a short time was brilliant.
Autosport hang your head in shame
-
Absolutely Mr R the Builder! I sent some pics but was just proud to see them in such a great publication. It's the people who drive these things in the first place who deserve the credit. Cheers again Werner.

-
incredible, still had 11 downloads yesterday, some people are really late ;D ;D ;D
-
I will be doing one for myself just as soon as I get a colour cartridge for my printer ::)
-
It was highly valued by the KKOC, and may have tempted some of them to sign up.
Well done
