Hopefully, once the small matter of Ecuador and Portugal are out of the way, it looks like there'll be a good old England v Holland footy match on saturday 1 July, the prize being a meeting with Brazil in the semis. :o
Then we'll see how deep this hands-across-the-ocean love-in stuff truly runs! Bring it on! ;) ;D
-
hmm, 1996 springs to mind ::) >:(
-
It could also make the friendly in November an interesting affair. ::)
-
I'm just glad that none of you is playing against Germany, not yet at last.
Just to add this: The river bank of the river Main here in Frankfurt turned very orange yesterday, nice sight. ;D

As orange as this (click) (http://gallery.drinkingforholland.com/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2081&g2_serialNumber=1)? :o
(our smoke bombs on start/finish on Saturday ruining a French old couple's afternoon ;D)
-
Not that bad (poor couple) but there were rumours about an explosion at a chemical plant. ;D
-
England vs Holland? Who cares, as long as the Germans don't win the cup!
-
We already did this one at Le Mans... England 7 - 1 Holland
About right i'd say :P
-
Roy, that's going to be pretty disappointing for you then. ;D

.....the guy that got knobbled at the end by some tough Dutch tackling....was his knee alright??

Dont even start on that sort of subject with LM still so recent....

that was the rematch :P
the first one before it was 5-1 for the dutchies :) (and wasn't as long as the second game... so all in all a tie, I say we do it again on Donington or Le Mans next year :) )

That was in fact me :( The knee is all strapped up but not too bad. No ruptured ligaments this time (ruptured two in the same knee playing football on the sunday of le mans 2002... one day i'll learn) Anyway I got my hatrick so I was happy :P
Cheers for asking mate

Glad to hear it. Good to meet you and well played.
Make sure you're fit for Sunday!!! ;D
-
good to hear that!
-
Your turn guys, kick those Portugese out! >:(
(with a referee this time without a mental disorder for pulling cards please :-\)
-
The problems was unsufficient orange smoke and orange footy clothes!
Just not enuff orange generally... so the ref had to keep mixing yellow n red :-\
-
It was unbelievable. Only saw the last 30 mins though.
I've seen better humoured ice hockey games, thought it might be last man standing at one point.
-
Great game ::)
I'll leave it at that.
No I won't.. Holland looked superb in their Club Arnage shirts!
England expects, you know the rest boys.
D.A.

.. Holland looked superb in their Club Arnage shirts!
I can't count how many times I thought "now there's a new design for next year..."

I thought the same.

Drinking for England from now on. :'(
-
me tooooooooooo <hic> ::) :P 8) :o
-
What an apauling referree!!!! ITV despite hating the Dutch have said maybe we should have a re-match!!!!
16 Yellow cards and 4 Reds!!!
Figo should have been sent off alot earlier and many of the dutch and portugees didn't deserve thier yellows let alone red cards!!
Rant over. See you on Wednesday for a re-match!!
-

You want a pint of warm flat beer Pieter? ;D

Would be a nice combo of the Club Arnage style, with some dutch touch to it. :) Next year not only union jack on a sleeve, but also a dutch flag on the other one?
-
At least it won't come to a clash between England and Holland, so now their will be no need for unfriendlyness!! Not that it would have come to that anyway ;D
On the whole, I think Holland was better in football, and Portugal were the better actors!
Don't get me started on the ref, he should participate in a game of russian roulette, where he is the only player and all the chambers of the revolver should be loaded! He ruined it for both sides and the public attending the game :'(
Better luck in 2008 at the european championship!
-
Granted the ref was a bit card happy but to be honest if the players didn't try to kick/head butt/push each other around the pitch he might not have had to be.
Good game for England in the end, cheers lads ;)
... England vs Scolari take 3
-
The ref was nothing short of a disgrace but on the positive side - thanks very much!
Deco and Costinha out, Figo may be out after Fifa review his head butt. I think the ref did brilliantly for England ;D

Okay, we'll see Wednesday how the English will beat those bunch of bad actors ;)
-
Why, do you have a crystal ball?
We'll probably wait until we actually play them on saturday ::)
-
Hmm, yes - you're right. Saturday it is. My apologies :-\

Wednesday should be the replay of the Holland vs Portugal game!

A nice little DfH logo on the sleeve would be nice (IMHO of course)
-
PRoblem is, you ad an extra color (orange). With the dutch flag you don't. But we'll see, plenty of time to decide on that. ;)
-

Would this be too much? ???
-
Damn. ;D
How cool is that (mandatory also for all 2007 DfH-members. ;) )
-
Will DfH still have the world cup lion next year?
I would have thought they might want to forget it as quickly as possible! 8)
Does look good tho... ;D (can I get a ladies one! ::) )
-
Like it Paddy but please could you turn the Union flag on the back right side up
Don't really expect you to know which is the right way when most that I saw at LM where upside down
-
Sorry Bob :-[
Will DfH still have the world cup lion next year?
I actually think the risk of getting caught steeling logos by the KNVB (Dutch football association) has gone down significantly since last night. The lion has always been linked with Holland, the colour has always been Orange, and we'll drink again in 2007 ;)
(all this besides the fact the orange shirts were bl00dy expensive this year, we'd like to believe we can wear it again next year) :)
-

LOL - how Dutch! ;D
P.S. Just teasing - I think we all know how generous DfH are!
-
Sorry Holland, I was cheering for you last night. :( I wish I had not been so presumptious as to start this thread. It would have been good though.
And as for Mr Ivanov the ref :o what a plonker.
-
This is where I call in for your expertise, is it me or are the refs going nuts with yellow and red cards?
I've seen a fair number of Premeirship games over the past few years on TV over here and its always seemed to me that the British refs "Let 'em play"
,and takes a particularly ugly tackle to get carded.
With these World Cup refs it looks like everytime someone sneezes a ref is whipping out his little sin book. WTF! Feel sorry for the Dutch guys, they got hosed by the officiating and some academy award winning dives by the Port's. That goal of Beckham's in the England game was a thing of beauty though. Just my novice opinion on this subject.

The refs are certainly going nuts this year, and its all because of a FIFA directive to protect the big names.
Drinking for Holland/Diving for Portugal!!!
-

Sweet Paddy BUT can you leave the Jack off so I can add the Guernsey and French (Brittany) flags ;D ;D ;D
>Martini...
-
Martini, you just knew I was waiting for your graphic expertise! ;D
-
Would this be too much?
Love it Paddy!!
-
To bad guys, tripped over the same guys as we did last week.....
-
another great performance by Portugal, acting that is!! Don't you just hate these guys.
Was rooting for England, but it just wasn't meant to be, sorry guys!!!
-
England v Portugal... did anyone want to win?
France v Brazil... what a great game... worthy of a final... Allez les Bleus
Zizou was a star reborn

Oh, so you noticed! Happy for the French though who swore to me on Saturday morning that France would loose and England would win!
Just shows what they know.
