Porsche will back anyone in the 2007 le mans 24hr with one of these babies :o
Now.. where did i put my wallet ;D
-
Hope so!
I haven't heard anything more about them being brought to LM next year but that is one bad-ass little car in the ALMS this year. Was at Mid-Ohio last month and watched it take Audi, Lola, etc. all to the woodshed.
Its pretty, raucous and goes like stink!

and if they uprate the motor a bit, they may have a bash at LMP1..now that would be a return ;D ;D severe kick ass time for the audi milkfloat ;D ;D
-
I've heard rumors floated (and they are just rumors)
that once the LMP2 customer program is up and running, that car is going to morph into a LMP1 machine, once again run by Penske Racing.

Having said that, its plenty fast enough as a LMP2 car beat the rest.

Imagine the LMP2 and morphed LMP1 racing together YEEEEEOOOOOWWWWWWW!! ;D
-
That's about the sound it makes too, very F1 sounding,
high revving, high pitched scream.

chase me!!!

Whats the betting that if the P2 Porsche starts to beat the P1 cars too often a little weight is added or its choked down a bit.
Its a great looking car, run by what must be one of the best teams in the world. Looking forward to seeing it run this side of the atlantic next year. I think there are 2 teams in the running too have one.

I've certainly got my fingers crossed. I'm sure we'd all like to see them in the Sarthe in 2007.

I actually think that even if they blow the doors off the rest of the oppostion this year I don't think IMSA will mess with them. I think IMSA is very happy to have Porsche back in the ranks, especially supplying customer cars, and the icing on the cake is having Penske involved. With the Honda-Acura program joining in next year things are looking very exciting for the ALMS these days and I suspect IMSA won't do anything to upset the applecart.

I hope your right, I hate 'fixing' by any means.
If a car is built to the rules and is legal, its up to the others to speed up.
Who do you think will run the Honda program?
-
The two teams that appear to be certain are Andretti-Green and Rahal. Newman-Haas appears to very interested too. VERY exciting stuff there.
