Title: lmes 2007
Post by: htbast on September 26, 2006, 07:33:54 pm
HAs anyone else noticed the 2007 schedule that was slipped onto the end of the LMES race results
(http://www.lmes.net/uk/download/2006/2006_Jarama_final.pdf)

Belgium (Spa)
Germany (Nürburgring)
Italy (Monza)
Spain
UK

No dates yet, and no names for the final two circuits.

Whick UK circuit will get to host last race of the season?

On the Jarama thread the UK race was provisionally booked for Silverstone again, which will be a real shame as Donington was far more fun and a much better circuit!

How do you know Uk gets last race of season?  The list of countries is in alphabetical order, as indeed it is on the LMS website, but with England rather than UK!

Spain will be at Valencia, UK Silverstone  :'(.  Dates within the next week or so, hopefully.

I presume the teams are a lot more eager than us for the dates. By the looks of it there will be no logic track date before Le Mans, as Spa and Turkey are out (Spa being refurbished). Nürburgring and Silverstone will be too cold / wet in April, only Monza and Valencia left for the Grand Practice before setting off for the seventyfifth... :-\

As far as I know, Paddy, the Spa date is correct (GP the following month) but have not marked it as confirmed as this info did not come direct from the ELMS.  Their site says that the dates and venues will be confirmed very soon and once they are I will add the "Confirmed" note to the calendar post.

With all due respect Johnny, I think your loss would be bigger than ours  :-\ ...nevertheless, I am always sorry to see members leave. I am sure no-one will have a go at your spelling again, that's already been done to death...  ::)

Glad you like the calendar (if not some of the venues/dates!), Paddy.  Of course, I forgot the test weekend at Paul Ricard.  I have never attended this, has anybody else?  Usually in April? Could be a nice prequal to the season.

Any chance you can let me know the source of this info'?  No mention of it on Silverstone or LM sites.  Then I can post it - at least provisionally - on the calendar.

Shall we start a book now on how many times they will need to refuel the safety car?   ::)

I could tell you my source, Termietermite, but then I would have to kill you...
But those are the dates I have.....

Fran, you should get back a day earlier!  We'll by flying in from Toronto on the Saturday morning of the Britcar 24hr's (So it'll be Gatwick, Home, Silverstone!) having been to Mosport and Detroit ALMS races!

Fran, you should get back a day earlier!

Well I actually get back on the Saturday, and assuming the important race is on the Sunday as usual, I should be able to get there for the race and possibly more....!

With all due respect Geoff, your schedule sounds a little bit obsessive not to mention expensive!   ;D

Fran,
We are going to Toronto next year for family reasons and originally we were going to go to Mosport Park only as its about 60miles or so away, but with the Detroit race being only a week later we thought we'd throw that into the melting pot too!

I agree it sounds like we are doing a lot of Sports car races but the two ALMS ones make sense when we are in the neighbourhood anyway,  and Silverstone isn't too far from home so it's a regular haunt for us.  And none of us want to miss the BIG ONE!

This is confirmed elsewhere (as "provisional" still, though), but also a paid for site.  I suspect there is an embargoed press release in which case I would imagine it will appear on the LMS website tomorrow - my sourse is usually 24 hours ahead of the public announcement.  My own instict was to hold off putting it on the  calendar until it appears there, won't be long.
