With some of us bitching about Road Atlanta's alcohol policy, let me bring up the Mid-Ohio "f**k the fans" ticket policy for this weekend's Superbike round. No individual day passes available, only weekend passes at forty-five bucks a head. What a bunch of bullshit! If you've got family or work obligations and can only do one day, sorry 'bout your luck, you've still got to plunk down for a full weekend pass. I've always defended Mid-Ohio as being fan friendly and a good value, but if this is going to be the wave of the future, they can bulldoze the place and put up a shopping mall. Mid-Ohio can piss off, I'm going to the Bengals-Patriots game instead.
What's the ticket policy at UK circuits?

All the events I have been to you can get individual day tickets or weekend ticket, with discount for advance bookings.
Never tried to get to F1 tho - not sure how that works.

Thanks Fran, that's what I thought. Until Mud-Ohio pulled this crap it was much the same, weekend, single day, and some kind of "superticket" incorporating a paddock pass and/or infield parking (with discount for pre-order). Same at Road Atlanta, Elkhart Lake, etc.
This is the most blatant case of trying to screw the spectators I've seen outside of a NASCAR venue.
For all the bitching I do about the ACO and the circuit at the Sarthe, its in all reality, a pretty damn good deal ticket wise.

I agree, if you are there from qualis on Wednesday (or just boozing in the campsite from Monday) thru to the end of the race the general entrance/camping ticket is a bargain, and if you attend the pre-quali day too (included in the ticket price) you get an awful lot of entertainment for your Euro!

Just to add to this, with the teams now able to stay track-side from PQ's to race day there is the added bonus of additional side events from the car manufacturers.
