Not quite approaching the majesty of Le Mans, but it tickled me all the same.
I don't know whether or not to consider them geniuses or simply mad.

the guys who race the mowers that you have to push are crackers.
But it looks like bloody good fun.

The current World Champion works at the same BAe Systems site as I do. In fact he was an apprentice at the same time as me. He nearly got sacked for nicking materials to build his lawn mower though.

I chap I used to know made a camper van from BAe scrap - pilots seats, passenger seats, overhead lockers, water tank etc.
A mower made out of titanium and carbon fibre, sounds great.

My mate had a £1500 titanium backed carbon fibre sump guard on his Nova rally car curtesey of BAe Systems. Not that they knew about it mind !

Cracking stuff, but a Nova!
-
don't worry, the guard was for the engine.

Bare in mind that this particular Nova was producing 200 BHP from a 1400 cc engine. Full kit car spec 16 Valve engine from a Tigra.
He recently sold the car to Austin McHale's nephew for £13,000
