It looks a touch Vauxhall Astra XE, but that never raced at LM - VWGTI?

Very short piston skirt (oo-er missus) and obviously a 4valve head but somehow the materials look a bit old fashioned. It's got an 8 stamped under the gudgeon pin.
How about a Cossy DFV? Out of a Lola T70 or Rondeau maybe?

It is indeed from a DFV. Late 70's, early 80's. My old man bought them to put into an engine he was building for his MK2, but never got round to it. I liberated it and it's now a paperweight.
I am looking for the rest of the engine to come up on Ebay with a £10 buy it now...

The piston has Cosworth cast into the underside of the crown.
