There will be a lunar eclipse tonight! The moon will change to orange (very dutch) or a dark red. Should happen around 2330 this evening. Brad I will take a few snaps for you.

Well the cloud in Essex has floated off
Keep popping out into the back yard to have a gander at the moon - it is berluddy cold out there tho
-
Just been out for a gawp - clear as a clear thing here, can see the eclipse in all it's glory...
-
Beautifully clear in Bristol, the moon is now completely obscured.
I wonder if there are people up there wondering why it's got dark ;D

Here we are, taken on an EOS 400D with with Brad's bloody expensive lens!

Well that turned out much better than mine.
Did you notice Saturn was in view too.

I saw it half way up when I bowled out the boozer. Looked good but I got the John Smiths call.
Beer and Eclispes, you just can't work them out.

Nice one Rick, but all I could see was Uranus ;D

Rick, that looks like a total eclipse of everything mate.
was the cap still on? I took quite a few with 35mm on an EOS 500 200mm lens. now got to wait to get them developed.
got to agree, and the best night for an eclipse.

Scroll across as I did not resize the pic!
-
I had a good view from my hot tub ;D
-
Well I staggered out into the back garden about midnight, and dashed off to get the camera. This is standard LM lens etc
-
How much had you had last night as I can see three moons there!
-
My best effort:

Got resized a bit when I uploaded it to photobucket. It's actually flippin huge!
Isn't it weird how fast the planet actually revolves - even on a relatively short 5 second exposure there's still a lot of bluriness and on the full size picture the stars are really "streaky". I'm pretty sure the camera/tripod was solid as a rock.

The camera was hand held so I had to have a few to relax and stops the shakes
-
buggerthis for a game!
Why does blarry XP keep wanting to open these in an unsupported Acrobat frame? Help!!!
And I cannot see the obviously easy way of stopping it... :-[
Papa's picture is great, 'tis they other ones.
When I stopped going outside all covered up in a blanket like an old wild western settler's missus to keep the cold out, it looked amazing, sort of like somebody had substituted the cheese for Meltis Turkish Delight, covered in icing sugar over a pinky white sweetie.
fantastic and the best I have ever seen in all my long years
wow

Bob, where did you lose your soul, mate?
Fantastic sight wasn't it?
Err, do you really want me to bring crates (many) of Carling to France?
Didn't think so, but if you do, so be it!!!
I soytainly got through a few waiting for the metamorphosis, must have! I had the obligatory Carling head'n'guts ache next morning...
