Title: Re: generator Post by: Jay (Team Cannonball) on March 14, 2007, 07:30:58 pm Its very noisy and ours shook itself to bits and the kill switch broke. Piece of poo.
Title: Re: generator Post by: neilsie on March 16, 2007, 05:21:24 pm oh well.. just don't camp near us lot!! ;)
Title: Re: generator Post by: Piglet on March 16, 2007, 09:36:10 pm No I'd suggest you don't camp near me if you want it to last more than five minutes. ;D
Title: Re: generator Post by: Perdu on March 17, 2007, 12:58:29 pm I'd certainly hope it would last maybe five minutes longer than the bargain compressor that lasted twenty three hours and fiftyfive minutes.
Aldi's big bargains seem to be totally poo to me. (mostly 'cos I can't even find my receipt to use as a lever to initiate repairs, dammit!) I think there are better deals around for this sort of kit. Sorry Aldi, I still look at the bargain bins avidly, but have much lower expectations now! :( Title: Re: generator Post by: neilsie on March 19, 2007, 02:23:07 pm No I'd suggest you don't camp near me if you want it to last more than five minutes. ;D yeah yeah.. bring it on!!! :) Title: Re: generator Post by: Werner on March 19, 2007, 02:41:07 pm Sorry Aldi, I still look at the bargain bins avidly, but have much lower expectations now! :( I don't think Aldi should be blamed for this, for 50 quid you get what you pay for! You can't expect a quality genny for that price... Title: Re: generator Post by: Perdu on March 19, 2007, 11:07:30 pm No Werner, I agree. I don't actually blame Aldi. As you say you get what you pay for, but it does act as a timely warning...
And I still look at the bargain tools, I got a very good Dremel substitute that does do the job and a digital calliper tool too. I just hope no one on HA has one of those gennies near us! Might drown out the subtle sounds of the 'Vettes in the night and I would not like that! :D bill Title: Re: generator Post by: Piglet on March 20, 2007, 09:55:42 am I bet these gennies are louder than the Audi diesels!!!
