The DFV was easy, but this ain't from an original Le Mans car. Make is shown, but where made please. Oh, and what is the engine?

Clue. This type of engine won Le Mans five times, but not with these pistons.
-
Audi FSi?
-
Nope. There aren't many five times winners of Le Mans though at the time I'm talking about, but if you count recent times the number of wins goes up. Now that makes it easier I reckon!

2 valves per cylinder, domed piston crown. venolia stamped on the top.
Corvette?
-
It looks old and heavy, with a large gap around the piston, and no pushrod holes.
Could it be XK?
-
Correct lorry. It was taken two years ago when I decided that the D type didn't have enough ooomph so we rebuilt it with high dome american pistons, wild cams and big valves. We only added 50bhp (325) but added 50% to the torque (now over 400 lb/ft).
