As is perhaps known by vintage and veteran CAers, it has become something of a tradition for Team Zarse to make sport of the official Le Mans poster. This doesn't play well with the movers and shakers at the ACO and due to Faustian contractual arrangements the Grande Frommy has with the ACO we're not allowed to post our newly buggered about version up here on this forum. So JPC has kindly agreed to host it for us and it's available to all free of charge here:

There's a couple of things we'd like to draw your attention to. Firstly, given this is a Commer themed poster, space has been given to VQ Dave's glorious Golden Arrow, a Rootes Group sibling. It's covering over the nasty diesel Peugeot; the evil French this year closed down the Ryton Factory in Coventry which was where the Arrow was built and where the Commer's engine/gearbox were assembled. We couldn't let them get away with it scot free, and this poster is a corporate slap in the face that we hope Jonny Garlic will remember for a very long time indeed.
You'll all notice too the www.justgiving.com/H-on-a-bike banner under the Dunlop bridge. As we all know BigH is pedalling himself all the way to Le mans on a Raleigh Grifter and the poster pays a small homage to his courage, heroic powers of physical endurance and idiocy. If anyone wants to print a poster or two, maybe to put in their car window for the trip down, please feel free to do so. We only ask that for those who haven't yet done so, please make a small donation to this good cause.
Finally, I'd like to apologise to Werner and the team on the CA Guide for failing to come up with anything constructive this year. Unfortunately the time taken on the poster and other commitments have prevented this, but if Werner would like to insert this into the Guide, perhaps to give BigH's sterling efforts a timely boost, then we'd be more than happy to oblige.
Enjoy, with the complements of Team Zarse!

Sadly, it says "Service Unavailable" when I click the link, Andy. Pity for I was up for the annual laugh.
-
Strange, the link was working ten minutes ago but not now.
-
Dead here too! Strange. I'll get Mark to check it. Worked earlier. I reckon it's the ACO. Or Peugeot's corporate sabotage dept.
Edited to say it's working again!
-
Don't we get a high definition version to print out?
-
Brilliant Andy.
Same question as Lorry

Guys, that one is 1.3 meg!! I think it's just that the browser resizes it. If you right click and save it then open it up in something like Windows Picture Viewer it should be about A3 size on the screen. Let me know if it's not so.

Good one Mr Zarse, and a good plug for Big H's worthy cause.
-
Both the Golden Arrow herself and I are truely humbled to be involved and featured on such a memorable, beautiful and poignant artwork.
Eat Rootes Johnny Garlic ;D
In fact the good lady herself is so happy she has finally decided to idle and run sweeter this week than ever before, 1000 miles in one weekend in the heat? Easy get yourself Rootes power.
And as said below (or above) all in a good cause as well, allez BIG H!!
-
Excellent effort as usual Andy.
-
Excellent, Andy - I have just printed it off
It must have gone under a low bridge somewhere - lost the rear aerofoil

Top hole old chap.
excellent oh great one!
;D ;D ;D ;D
toodlepip!
-
Marvellous! - Surely headed for Brian Searles private collection.
Great to see the www.justgiving.com/H-on-a-bike inclusion as well, just the injection I needed (apart from that one that the docs and cycling authorities keep squabbling about).
And timely as well, as the pledged sum, thanks mostly to Club Arnage, creeps over the half way mark. C'mon boys (and girls) I know you can do it. Even One-Kidney-Rob has pledged a sum, and I reckoned he'd already given more than enough!

Superb Mr Z, you have excelled yourself this year. ;D ;D
Just saved it to print later in case it disappears under injunctions from the ACO. :)

Finally, I'd like to apologise to Werner and the team on the CA Guide for failing to come up with anything constructive this year.
We'll come after you.... ;D

Very nicely done as always. Two veritable giants of the classic scene indeed, the combination of which will doubtless keep Johnny foreigner from starting let alone winning.
The potential of the battle cruiser might of the Commer, together with the comparative patrol boat incisiveness of the Humber should provide the necessary battle-winning capability even before the first shot is even fired. Full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes!

Superb poster Mr Zarse. Looks like more effort went into that than the official poster.
