This has been bothering me for while. When I say 'bothering' I mean it's intregued me for some time.
My user name reflects the first half of my postcode after my initials. Although I haven't been there for a while so perhaps I should change to JJPO10!
How did everyone else select their username? There are some obvious ones and they are easily identifiable. But there are some really perverse ones.
Come on, tell how you got / chose them.
If this has been asked before, I do apologise.

Did you not know that you can change the text above you avatar, you still sign on the same but the name is different. You can also change your email address.
My real signon is RCutler, a couple of years back we had a "who are you really" Some of us changed to our complete name.
-
I've never really thought of using any other name than my own. Nicknames are best when others come up with it, because that reflects how other people see you. Although I'm not sure I'm happy with "Wrong Way", the nick name that has been given to me last year after taking a bit of a detour to Le Mans. This year at Sebring somebody called me "Texas Pete". I like that better, all it took was wearing a cowboy hat.

Shaun is my first name
v156 is the car I used to have
an alfa 156 v reg.

vq - as in my company vingt quatre which was named at le mans...

My nick name was given to me when I was at art school. I drove a very sinister looking Black 60's long wheel base Mercedes Fintail (heckflosse to our dutch chums) and they thought I was some kind of wannabe Bond Villain. That and the fact I consumed mountains of lovely cream Scones in the cafe and voila- I was named so. Very silly I know but it stuck.
Ps. I am not naturaly evil, as the great Morrissey once sang ;D

Rhino from sunday football. Not much in the way of finesse, favoured sliding tackles, never ever chickened out of a tackle. One of the lads in the team thought it was my real name.
-
I am a Lord of the Realm

This is a constant source of humiliation for me. I used to be DaveH before the big site change, but had to fall to Dave H to re-register. Oh the humanity!
I secretly wish I could change it to Penelope.

Nice choice Dave- I have always been partial to the name Doris but someone else has got it ;D

Mine is an anagram of my real name, Earth Tramp.

Gordon for obvious reasons and the wr 'cos I'm the owner of a ur quattro with a wr engine as opposed to an mb or an rr. I've been doing a bare metal, glass out rebuild for the past 16 months and need it finished NOW !!
I suspect that will not be the case unless the fairys pop in overnight, so will keep going for a few more months !!

Perdu is lost in French (Ish)
I got lost first time I drove in the country
and constantly live up to it when I arrive at the City Of Our Dreams
I expect I always will, makes me feel at home nowadays
If I'm lost I must be in France :-*

Thanks for that Rick, but 'cos fat finger syndrome took over and I used "JDS" originally and the initial 'confirmation' email went to the typo email I can't change my ID to it now .... No worries, I'm getting to like being back in the UK anyways .... ::)

1984 Audi quattro. Up to '86 the engine had an air cooled turbo and was designated wr. Then the turbo was water cooled and called an mb. The rr was the last to be built and had the 20v engine. Other differences but put simply they were the main ones.

MG - 'cos I've always liked them and have had one since buying my first car in 1980.

In that case Norbert could you ask your staff in the big red trucks to take less than 5 miles before they abandon their attempt to overtake on the A1. You can't go faster than 56 mph anyway so whats the point? ;D

Well, I'm not going there, that's for sure.
I'm not long out of intensive care, and it's been a rough few weeks I can tell you. You thought the sound of a 787B was bad...

Pretzel was a nickname attributed to my previous car - a Subaru Impreza, and a couple of friends use to call me the same and it sort of stuck, even though I haven't had the car for a couple of years.
