My thanks to Bob T, for this hot taken at RAF Coningsby recently during the 'Top Gear' shoot; Typhoon Vs Veyron.
The question is, is this really this seasons Stiggy?
-
Maybe this is more clear?

That looks like the hamster, certainly not Arron "Stig" Scott
-
I think I know who I'd have a punt on but I'd agree that it's not Aaron although I couldn't comment on whether he may have carried out the role previously ;D
As discussed lots before, my informed opinion is that there is not and has never been "one" Stig or even a Stig per season. There are various drivers who carry out the role dependant on the driving type required and the drivers availability.
This does look a bit like Hammond but I think it's highly unlikely he's allowed to drive anything quick and to risk a further head injury.
-
From the position of the head i.e. can only just see over the dashboard, its got to be Hamster. Perhaps he's limited to 50 mph even with a helmet.
-
Doesn't everybody look like a hamster when they're wearing a racing helmet?

Yup
-
Piglet, what's the bet going to be for then: bottle of beer or vin rouge?
-
my sources at the airbase confirm that it is indeed the hamster and he was wearing a very nice evening black racing overalls. Surprisingly the Typhoon fighter won the drag along the runway.
one comment was the jet didn't even need to break out into a sweat, so not much fun there then.

I'm amazed that even if Hammond is medically able to drive and that the BBC can or will insure him to drive at speed.
My money would have been on a Bristol born driver who looks enough like that picture from a distance for it to have been him....

Well on our trip to the "S" word in March
A certain Mr Turner was asked when he visited Turn 10,if he was the "Stig" and his reply was "If I was to admit I was the Stig,I would be out of a job would'nt I".
Sounds like this could be one of the appointed drivers!!!!!
Wishy

There are currently four normal "Stigs"
1. Ben Collins
2. Neil Cunningham
3. Darren Turner
4. Aaron Scott
Plus the US ones and Heikki Kovalainen was it the frame when the Renault F1 car was used...

(http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd170/BrakeLater/DSCN1033.jpg) or might this be the Stig??
-
No that's not the Stig but I may know who it is! I think Rick Cutler knows?
-
Page 7 of the Sunday Times reports today on the Top Gear "Stunt" with the VW car ;D and Thypoon fighter jet.

Ah, the newspaper of record.

Nope, but I do know who it is, I have a reliable source. IE the person that is actually in the suit!
