Hi Guys,
If anyone is interested, saw this on the web today. The Motorsport Collector in Chicago is offering a nice selection of Michael and Graham Turner Porsche prints these days, in the run up to Porsche Rennsport III at Daytona. Apparently there is going to be one of the largest gatherings of Porsche racing cars in history at the Speedway. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 956/962 series there is going to be something around thirty examples on hand, with twenty 917's gathered as well.

HOLY $HIT John - where the hell did you magic that up from?
That pic of the '83 race with the 956 passing under the bridge - I've got to have it.
What a find! Jeeezus - that's gonna be on my study wall the next time you get your curvy butt down here, Fax, my boy.

That place is a gold mine. It's across the street from my old train stop and you never knew what would turn up there. A TAG/Porsche engine block coffee table, a Gulf Porsche wheel, rare diecasts...and the books! I wish the wife gave me a bigger allowance. ;D

Great pic I agree,
but the only thing that worries me is imagine a updated pic, done now, or in the next couple of years. NO fair, more fencing and Audi hospitalality suites every where.
Oh progress....... :(

Agreed - what a picture that captures so much about the track, race and atmosphere that we remember so well....

It's too depressing, it shows what a great place LM used to be. I think it's the ferris wheel that does it for me. You can almost hear the roar of dust and diesel, smoking shotguns going off and the man going round the wall of death on his CX500. I'm sure I just caught a heady whiff from the back of Crazy Pigalle's lorry too.

oh yeah, I remember that funfair behind Dunlop bridge too... and of course the legendary (http://thumb19.webshots.net/t/30/466/6/20/54/2714620540101633999nExQGc_th.jpg) (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2714620540101633999nExQGc) ;D ;D

Glad you guys like the LM '83 print, seems like such an evocative image. I've been buying stuff from Paul Zimmerman at TMC for decades now, including several Michael Turner prints. Turner of course is such a racing icon, his Watkins Glen event posters are collectors items, and he counted guys like Graham Hill, and Jimmy Clark among his closest friends.
Jealous that your going to Rennsport, sounds like it'll be a terrific show.
