Title: LM 2008 rule changes
Post by: Martini...LB on October 27, 2007, 04:30:28 pm
ACO rule changes for 2008

“…in order to close the gap between the performances of the LM P1 petrol-engined prototypes and those of the diesel-powered cars .... and endeavour to maintain a constant and visible level of suspense throughout the race, the following rule changes/technical adjustments have been introduced…”

Two technical adjustments will be made for the 2008 season:

The minimum weight of the LMP1 cars is fixed at 900 kgs.

The surface of the air restrictors fitted to petrol-engined cars will benefit from a 3% increase.

>Martini...

Just 3% eh, based on time to finish, distance covered etc, 5% would me more appropriate. THEN THERE WOULD BE A RACE.

I suspect it will not make too much difference to the end result.

No doubt Audi will have something in reserve, and Pug are still developing.
