Shall we try to expand the dates a bit to see if we can fit in with the Culture Boys as they would probably double the numbers attending?!

Assuming that we would be looking for a Friday or Saturday in January, I could do the following:-

4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th, (possibly 19th if absolutely the only option).

If we drift into February, I can't do either of the first two weekends in Feb but later in Feb is ok.

I would quite like to have something to eat as well as beer.

The Cheshire Cat gets good reviews but the Grosvenor was described as a bit overpriced.

I am now wondering whether I ought to book a bed for the night - not sure I can be trusted with the 2 units... anyone else likely to be stopping over (not counting the Liverpool Boys in their floating pleasure palace)?

I am driving to Chester from Preston, so will be passing by Warrington. Let me know if you want a lift there and back, as i will be driving home afterwards anyway. You could then have a drink if you wanted to, and not have to worry about staying over etc.

In a moment of realism, I have booked a room for the night at the Cheshire Cat (its a twin so if anyone else cant make it home there is a spare bed!!) - I did ponder staying sober enough to drive home, but realised it simply wasnt going to happen..... :-\

Chris, a main meal on average is around £8.50, but depends on what you have.

Post by: Chris24 on January 06, 2008, 03:07:30 am: Well just got back from a jolly good evening in the company of 8 other Club Arnage members. OK Kev Mk3 where the hell were you. Afterall it was your idea in the first place but on the night a no show. So I am going to be the first to give you some stick. I am quite sure that the othe eight will also be giving you some over the next few days.

Arrived in Chester mid afternoon and went and had a look around the sales and bought a few things. Then arrived at the pub for about 5.50pm and was about to go looking for the boat when the Liverpool lads walked around the corner so went straight into the pub, where we met Fran. So we sat around a table and propped up the bar until 7.30pm before being seated to eat.

Most of us had a three course meal for under £20 and the food was good, the company great, and the banter of a sexual nature at times. Fran has a four poster bed in her room and may at some point later tonight have a Liverpool boy handcuffed to each corner.

We stayed in the pub until about 11.30pm and then went back to the narrow boat for a night cap of low flyers.

In attendance we had,

Fran,
Liverpool boys x 5 (Brian, Ian, Jimmy , Mike and Chris,)
Neil No Panic,
Jules G
Chris 24

I left the drinkers to it and headed home at 12.30pm but a good night was had by all.

All that said and done it took me ages to pick the locks on those handcuffs this morning!!!! :o :o

Excellent after hours hospitality was also enjoyed on board the HMS Liverpool Boys - where Neil seems to have managed to drink the entire whisky supply..... I handed him back to Mrs Panic this morning in the car park of the Happy Eater ......looking somewhat the worse for his night out!

Was good to meet up with Jules G - a new face to put to the name!

Shame Kev didnt make it tho... hope he is ok and didnt have an unfortunate incident to the way there. It had better be a good excuse anyway.

Looking forward to a good nights sleep tonight tho without Neil n Chris snoring for Britain. :(

You eat a bit of food or take some fluid and its pot luck which end it comes out of if you get me! :( finally kept something down yesterday so here I am back in work (don’t get paid sick pay) so I really, really do apologise and I WILL attend the next meet without a doubt!

No Panic, as at LM fell under their affect as was soon speaking a new language none of us could understand. Fran being our only Lady, or should I say CA Goddess was in great form and lasted to the end but she did order coffee and toast with honey for a late supper. We finnished at about 2.30 with all who were leaving the boat not falling into the cut. I also have a few photo's and will post later.

Well Chris, I can only assume that the colour distortion must have been due to lack of actual atteding "the great event" as per Andy's post!!!!

Really glad to hear that you you'll be back where you belong in 2008............and there'll be a bottle of of something waiting when you visit Team JPC, although I'm a little worried, as it was the year after our cocktail party that you disappeared for a couple of years!!! :( :o 8)

Came out of hospital on Friday after having a kidney and tumour the size of a rugby ball removed. Slowly recovering at my sisters and hope to be able to drive in a few weeks, so when's the next meet ????
