So, just who is going this year, and on what flights (yeah yeah, I know some of our members won't be flying...)?
I travel out Virgin from Gatwick on Tues 11th, back a week after the race on Saturday 22nd.
Most likely will be in Camp Pidge.
-
Flying Manchester - Orlando arriving Tuesday 11th. Flying home Tuesday 18th.
Arriving at the track Wednesday morning hopefully and then camping at team Pidge. Leaving straight after the race on Saturday night.

Yep, 100 square inches per pitch, IMSA-style ;D

Flying from Boston to Orlando on the 11-th, arriving at the track later in that afternoon. Staying at T10 most likely, or find a spot trackside in that general area, flying back on the 17-th via Atlanta to Amsterdam

Leaving at daybreak on Wednesday morning and arriving at the track around 10:00 AM (sorry guys, had to rub it in...but it is slower pulling the trailer)! Staying on the fence at the drive-over bridge as usual.

I do have the occasional Bier Noir, I cannot say otherwise - but I do so only to keep my anorexia in check. Without it's nourishment, I would whither away to nothing in a matter of days.
As for PG Tips replenishment - you are a star for offering Doris, a steady supply of Rosie Lee keeps the old bag in check - I tell her the only reason I go to these races and drink myself into oblivion with you guys whenever you are over, is to re-stock the tea caddy. So far, I've got away with it....
Thanks again for thinking of me - certainly looking forward to seeing you all again in March.
I just got back into the sunshine from very snowy, very cold Wisconsin and am about to flash-up the grill, crack a few cold'uns and settle down to the 50th running of the Daytona 500. Spare a thought for poor ol' Fax, he's having to tolerate the 85 degree temps out at the speedway - the season's already begun on this side of the pond.
Best wishes to all.

Matt,
Just to clarify...Is it tea leaves or tea bags?
Dx
-
Tea bags, if you'd be so kind, D. Really appreciate this.
Matt
-
No problem Matt. I shall fill he empty spaces in my suitcase with tiny pyramids of PG's finest tips.
See you in ooh, about three weeks. ;D

Just a 'heads-up' for those of you getting in to FL the weekend prior to the race....
STS-123, Endeavour is due to launch at 2.28am on March 11th.
Resisting the temptation to compare my arse after Sebring with a night-time shuttle launch, if this goes on schedule, you will be treated to a real spectacle. I'll be going out to the Cape for this one - the night lift-offs are incredible.
-
This Sebring topic is not annoying when you are going... when not it BLOODY well is
>Martini...

Glad I'm not the only one keeping an eye on the launch schedule website. A lift out to the Cape for this would be a great way of thanking me for the tea. ::)
Dx
-
Damn a launch would have been good...I arrive later on 11th
-
I'm hoping that this will be on time, but if you remember there was also one scheduled for last year in the week prior to Sebring but it ended up getting cancelled due t the main fuel cell being damaged by golf ball sized halestones a couple of weeks before! >:(
But here's hoping!! :)

A fair exchange, I'd say.
What a lot of people don't realise is the amount of preparation that goes into occasions like this. Meticulous planning and almost unthinkable technology -combined with potentially lethally volatile liquids and gasses that have to be combined with microscopic precision. All it takes is one miniscule mis-calculation to create an utter disaster that can have far reaching and quite horrendous consequences. That's why I prefer tea bags to leaf.... Takes all the guesswork out of it.
-
Larry and I will be stopping by the CA site on Friday morning to wake everyone up about 9am or so, then again on Saturday morning. Hope all that are traveling in have a safe trip.
-

ME too ::) Would like to see a night launch. They seldom go on schedule though. What if delayed? tough choice night practice or WFO party  If delayed to the next week though ;D
Phil
-
I am also arriving later on the 11-th, so if you do not mind, I would love it if they postpone the launch to later in the week ;D
-
FYI
If there is a night launch and the sky is clear, the launch can be seen from Sebring and pretty much anywhere in the state. So if you do arrive in Florida earlier than the 11th just pay attention to the cloud cover.
But a day launch can be seen also.
I live in Miami and have witnessed at least 6 launches from my street.
Granted ... it ain't the best ...... but it can be seen from well over 100 miles away.
-
Turn 10 regular checking in! Thanks to my fellow race fans I'm safe and set to go for my 3rd consecutive. Don't miss my pole dance at the WFO party on Thursday, it will get ugly.

"Thanks god that's behind us" said Impala LMPX1 designer Lee Self, "I was afraid we were going to have to completely redesign the interior of our 2010 ACO spec Experimental P1 car" Continuing, "When we came up with this driver combination body size and height were our overarching concern. The ramifications of a driver change at such a late may well have impacted our ability to field a fully sorted car. I mean, what if we had to draft a Gurney or an Andretti into the car; Completely different problems. It's not easy to install those Gurney bubbles in the roof. and if it was a shorter driver, can you imagine the time lost in the pits sliding the seat forward?"
"So with our original driver line-up STILL in place, we look forward to getting back to our testing of new components and fluids." ----END
